The paper describes determination, by means of theoretical and experimental methods of local overall heat transfer coefficients on a cylindrical partition. Such partition consists of the tube wall made of plastic or alloy steel. In the experiments, the flow of cooled liquid (denatured alcohol) was characterized by Reynolds numbers from the range 3000 < Re < 20000. Water or air was flowing in countercurrent manner on the external tube surface. A mathematical model of momentum and heat exchange processes in the inlet zone of the tube was been elaborated, which considers the thermal boundary condition on the external surface of the tube taken from experiments. To compare the achieved findings, the corresponding experimental results published in the literature are cited. Such comparison shows a good compatibility.
