Równolegle z pracami IMN w zakresie hydrometalurgicznych technologii odzysku renu jako cennego, strategicznego metalu towarzyszącego rudom miedzi, prowadzone były prace dotyczące wykorzystania tego metalu w przetwórstwie metali nieżelaznych. W artykule opisano opracowane w IMN technologie dotyczące wytwarzania wysokoprądowych materiałów stykowych W-Cu i W-Ag z dodatkiem renu, drutów W-Re do termopar oraz technologię sferoidyzacji cząstek proszku renu w strumieniu plazmy. Opisano poszczególne technologie oraz przedstawiono wyniki badań strukturalnych i testów aplikacyjnych dla badanych grup materiałów. Przedstawiono również aparaturę, służącą do przeprowadzania wybranych operacji technologicznych. Artykuł był prezentowany na konferencji KGHM ECOREN "Metale towarzyszące w przemyśle metali nieżelaznych", Wrocław 13-15.102010.

Together with the research conducted at IMN into hydrometallurgical methods for the recovery of rhenium as a valuable and strategic metal encountered in copper ores, the studies were also made on potential application of that metal in nonferrous metals processing. This paper outlines the technologies developed at IMN for the production of high-current W-Cu and W-Ag contact materials with rhenium addition, W-Re wires for thermo-couples, as well as the technology for spheroidization of rhenium powder particles in a plasma stream. Particular technologies are described together with the results from structural examination and application tests performed with the studied materials. The equipment used in selected technological operations is also presented.
