Zabudowa wschodnich dzielnic Bydgoszczy zrealizowana została według idei miasta-ogrodu, stworzonej na przełomie XIX i XX w. Na przykładzie dzielnicy Sielanka i Bielawy wskazano wzorcową jednostkę urbanistyczną w skali regionu, prezentującą ówczesne trendy epoki, realizowane w Europie i świecie. Kwestie zawarte w omówieniu przedstawiają strefy miejskie wchodzące w skład systemu architektoniczno-urbanistycznego, opartego na centrach społecznych, z ogrodami i budowlami użyteczności publicznej, parkach i zabudowie mieszkalno-usługowej. Zrealizowanie nowatorskiego projektu przyczyniło się do utworzenia reprezentatywnego dla omawianej idei obszaru w krajobrazie miejskim, który nadal pozytywnie wyróżnia ten fragment miasta spośród pozostałych dzielnic Bydgoszczy.

Building of the eastern districts of Bydgoszcz was realized by the idea of garden city created at the turn of the XIX and XX century. For instnace, the districts Sielanka and Bielawy indicate standard urban unit within the region, presenting the age trends at that time that were carried out in Europe and worldwide. Issues discussed in this presentation introduce urban areas included in the system of architecture and urban design based on public centers with gardens and public utility buildings, parks, residential and service building. The implementation of an innovative project led to the creation of a representative, for the presented idea, area in the urban landscape, which still positively distinguishes this part of the city from the remaining districts of the city of Bydgoszcz.

Artykuł prezentuje koncepcję dwubiegunowego centrum Zamościa, powstałą w wyniku konkursu Towarzystwa Urbanistów Polskich z roku 1969. Ukazano proces powstawania koncepcji w kontekście ówczesnych metod planistycznych oraz trendów urbanistycznych. Położono nacisk na analizę zespołu jako całościowego założenia przestrzennego.

The article describes history urban development of the city of Zamosc in 1969. The project was one of the most interesting examples of modern urban planning movement in Poland. The designers based their project on a homogeneous functional-physical module, both in the urban and the architectural scale. Thus the new centre of Zamość repeats the scale and plan of the historic town, and the contemporary form of architecture serving administration, culture and services preserves the rhythm and dimensions of the historic architecture. The article is going to answer the question how to define this period in reference to different definitions of this phenomenon
