The author of this article will discuss issues related to aircraft accidents. The paper will set out the investigative activities carried out by Poland’s State Commission on Aircraft Accidents Investigation. The author will also address the concept of liability for aircraft accidents. The paper will be concluded with comments on aviation accidents.

W pracy przedstawiono warunki występowania oblodzenia samolotu w locie jego intensywności w zależności od wilgotności powietrza, temperatury otoczenia i powierzchni nośnych samolotu oraz prędkości lotu. Przedstawiono opracowane w NASA modele matematyczne umożliwiające obliczenie masy lodu i jego rozkład, jak również zmiany charakterystyk aerodynamicznych samolotu. Przykładowe obliczenia własności aerodynamiczne i dynamiczne samolotu w locie powierzchni "szklisty lód" wykonano dla samolotu PZL TS-11 "ISKRA" wykorzystując model matematyczny.

In the paper presents physical and mathematical modelling of flow over iced lifting surfaces (wings, horizontal and vertical tail surfaces), as it affects the aerodynamic and dynamic properties of the aircraft. The mathematical model of icing with white frost is taken from NASA Report, which takes into account the air humidity, ambient temperature and icing intensity. The test calculations are done for an aircraft of PZL TS-11 "ISKRA" (Spark) class. The numerical simulation based on 6 DoF mathematical model of aircraft. Variable in time of following factors: aircraft mass, mass distribution, aerodynamic properties and their influence on the aircraft dynamics, are given in diagrams.
