Przedstawiono analizę modernizacji istniejącej elektrociepłowni parowej poprzez zabudowanie turbiny gazowej z kodem odzyskowym, opalanej gazem eksportowym z nowoczesnego procesu produkcji surówki COREX. Dane do obliczeń przyjęte zostały na przykładzie jednej z polskich hut średniej wielkości. Wykonano obliczenia związane z dostosowaniem rynkowej turbiny gazowej do zasilania paliwem średniokalorycznym. Zaproponowano dwa warianty kotła odzyskowego oraz przeprowadzono optymalizację jego parametrów z zastosowaniem metody Pinch. Do obliczeń wykorzystane zostało oprogramowanie komercyjne (Engineering Equation Solver, Gate Cycle) oraz procedury indywidualne napisane w języku Fortran.

The paper includes the analysis of modernization of the existing plant by means of coupling it with a new gas turbine and heat recovery steam generator fired with the export gas from an advanced pig iron process COREX. Input data have been received from exemplary medium size ironworks located in Poland. The computations of adjusting of the commercial gas turbines for medium calorific fuel have been carried out. Two variants of HRSG have been proposed and optimised using the Pinch method. Computations have been made on commercial software (Engineering Equation Solver, Gate Cycle) and specially dedicated individual procedures written in Fortran language.

Four problems of thermodynamics optimization have been discussed: the maximization of the useful effect (finite time Thermodynamics), the minimization of the entropy generation, the optimization of the structure of thermal systems (pinch method) and the minimization of the depletion of unrestorable natural exergy resources. In each case the result does not equal the economic optimum. Advantages and disadvantages of the presented problems have been discussed.
