W artykule omówiono wybrane prace zaprezentowane na konferencji ELTE 2013, prezentujące dorobek polskich zespołów badawczych z ostatnich kilku lat. Konferencje z serii „Technologia Elektronowa” organizowane są od ponad 30 lat, cyklicznie przez różne ośrodki badawcze. Tegoroczna, XI Konferencja ELTE 2013, odbyła się w XIV wiecznym zamku krzyżackim w Rynie w dniach 16-20 kwietnia. Zgromadziła 257 naukowców-teoretyków, technologów i inżynierów – z najważniejszych obszarów badawczych współczesnej elektroniki. Obrady merytoryczne toczyły się w czterech sesjach tematycznych: mikroelektronika i nanoelektronika, fotonika, mikrosystemy oraz materiały elektroniczne i fotoniczne, a także w sesjach plakatowych. W sesjach plenarnych przedstawiono najnowsze osiągnięcia światowe w obszarach zaawansowanych technologii elektronicznych i fotonicznych z licznymi odniesieniami do prac polskich zespołów badawczych. Specjalną sesję poświęcono omówieniu kluczowych projektów badawczych i inwestycyjnych.

The paper presents a digest of chosen research and technical work results shown by researchers from technical universities, governmental institutes and research firms during the XI th Scientific Conference on Electron Technology ELTE 2013. ELTE Conference has been held every three years since more than three decades. In 2013 the conference was held in Ryn Castle (Poland) on 16-20 April and gathered around 257 scientists, theoreticians, technologists and engineers from such areas as material engineering, chemistry, sensors, integrated circuits, electronics engineering, laser industry, photonics, etc. The conference featured the following four major topical sessions – Micro and Nano, Photonics, Materials and Technologies, and Microsystems; two dedicated sessions – a keynote plenary session on hot topics in electron technology, as well as a session on large research projects and grants realized by the relevant community. Oral topical sessions were accompanied by poster sessions.

In this paper, the authors, chairmen of the 13th Conference on Optical Fibers and Their Applications OFA 2011, and editors of the conference proceedings summarize the development of optical fiber technology in Poland (during the period of 2009-2011) on the basis of papers presented there and consecutively published in this volume. The digest is thus not full but covers the periodically presented material every 18 months during the meetings on optical fibers in Białystok-Białowieża and Lublin-Krasnobród.
