The methods of preparation of phenyl-trifluoromethyl sulfides can be divided into three groups: 1. substitution of three atoms of chlorine in trichloromethyl sulfide by three atoms of fluorine, but it is very difficult; 2. introducing trifluoromethylsulfanyl group into benzene ring; 3. reactions between tiophenols, their salts, disulfides, sulfenyl chlorides or phenyl tiocyanides and compounds containning trifluoromethyl group.
