Monitoring of phase jitter in fibre optic time and frequency transfer systems

The phase jitter enables to assess quality of signals transmitted in a bi-directional, long-distance fibre optic link dedicated for dissemination of the time and frequency signals. In the paper, we are considering measurements of jitter using a phase detector the detected frequency signal and the reference signal are supplied to. To cover the wideband jitter spectrum the detected signal frequency is divided and - because of the aliasing process - higher spectral components are shifted down. We are also examining the influence of a residual jitter that occurs in the reference signal generated by filtering the jitter occurring in the same signal, whose phase fluctuations we intend to measure. Then, we are discussing the evaluation results, which were obtained by using the target fibre optic time and frequency transfer system.

The article presents the disadvantages of traditional and some new electric protections of powerful electric motors. It is proposed to eliminate these drawbacks by constructing phase-sensitive protection that does not use current transformers, with a majority circuit and functional diagnostics. The methods of choosing protection settings are given. The algorithm of its functioning, implementation and operation in various modes is considered.The construction for mounting to protect the blocks near the conductors of the motor phases is presented.

W artykule zaprezentowano mankamenty obecnie stosowanych metod zabezpieczania mocnych silników elektrycznych. Na tej podstawie zaproponowano nową fazoczułą metodę nie korzystająca z przekładników prądowych.

A phase comparison scheme of protection of busbar on the reed switches fixed connections near conductors extending from these busbars which does not require current transformers has been studied. The article provides an analysis of its sensitivity and behavior in different modes.

W artykule przedstawiono adaptacyjne zabezpieczenie różnicowe linii przesyłowych z rozmytym kryterium porównawczo-fazowym. Zastosowanie dodatkowego kryterium ma zapewnić poprawę funkcjonowania zabezpieczenia różnicowego dla sytuacji zwarć zewnętrznych z nasyceniem przekładników prądowych. Proponowany algorytm testowany był na sygnałach pochodzących z symulacji w EMTP-ATP. a wyniki porównano ze standardowym przekaźnikiem różnicowym.

In this paper enhanced differential current protection scheme dedicated for HV transmission lines is described. The adaptive fuzzy relay scheme is proposed that combines strengths of both current and phase comparison protection criteria. The relay stabilization characteristic is adapted on-line depending on the output of the fuzzy reasoning scheme supplied with information from the phase comparison unit. As a result improved performance of the scheme for cases of external faults with CT saturation is reached. The performance of presented fuzzy protection scheme has been tested with the signals generated with use of EMTP-ATP program and compared to the traditional solution.
