W artykule przedstawiono podstawowe założenia koncepcji indywidualnego zarządzania wiedzą i informacją, która powstała na bazie trzech innych, rozwijanych równolegle, koncepcji, tj. indywidualnego zarządzania wiedzą, indywidualnego zarządzania informacją oraz kompetencji informacyjnych. Omówiono wyniki pierwszej części badań empirycznych w tym zakresie przeprowadzonych wśród studentów specjalności informatologiczno-bibliologicznych na Wydziale Humanistycznym Uniwersytetu Warmińsko-Mazurskiego w Olsztynie.

The concept of Personal Knowledge and Information Management (PKIM) was presented, which is based on three other concepts: Personal Knowledge Management, Personal Information Management and Information Literacy. The first part of the empirical studies results in the scope of PKIM was described, carried out among students of two specializations at the Faculty of Humanities in University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn.

The authors of the paper took up Aoyama's concept of the integrated industrial processes intent analysis and linked it with the ideas of the designer's IPA (Intelligent Personal Assistant). In many cases it is not sufficient to analyze the engineer's intent depot when trying to explain the origin of a fault. Often computer models are built or real experiments are done with which the considered classes of problems can be analyzed better. The IPA concept was expanded for the process of building computer models and stands for the fault analysis.
