Najważniejsze parametry użytkowe tych systemów, m.in. osiągane przepływności bitowe, zasięg transmisji oraz pobór mocy, odniesiono do standardu Bluetooth. W rezultacie wskazano zalety i wady implementacji technologii Bluetooth w urządzeniach biomedycznych.

In this article, currently available wireless systems that provide short-range data transmission such as IrDA, Area-lrDA, HomeRF, ZigBee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi networks, UWB techniques and Bluetooth are compared considering the advisability of their implementation in medical equipment. The most important parameters of these systems, i.e., achievable bit rates, an operating range and power consumption, are focused on in relation to the Bluetooth. As a result, some advantages as well as shortcomings of the Bluetooth application in biomedical devices have been dug up.
