W samochodach osobowych z silnikami o zapłonie samoczynnym z bezpośrednim wtryskiem paliwa, zaobserwowano niepokojące zjawisko "przybywania oleju w silniku" (przedostawanie się paliwa do oleju silnikowego). Dotyczy to pojazdów z silnikami spełniającymi normy spalin począwszy od EUIV. Dotychczas sytuacja była odwrotna. Wraz z czasem eksploatacji, oleju ubywało, a wartość maksymalnego zużycia na 1000 km była podana przez producenta pojazdu. Ze względu na stosunkowo częsty przypadek w ostatnich kilku latach przybywania oleju w silniku, w artykule zaprezentowano badania i omówiono kilka przyczyn takiego stanu rzeczy. Problem powyższy jest o tyle istotny, że w przedstawionym wyżej przypadku bardzo często dochodzi do uszkodzenia silnika wskutek zatarcia się panewek wału korbowego (mieszanina oleju napędowego i oleju silnikowego posiada inne właściwości smarne niż sam olej silnikowy) lub do rozbiegnięcia się silnika wskutek zassania nadmiaru oleju odmą do komory spalania.

The presence of the oil in the engine has been observed in the cars with the self ignition engine and a direct fuel injection. This problem touches vehicles with the engines which reach the standards of the car fumes beginning with EU IV. However, it has not been like that so far. What is more, it has been the other way round. With the exploatation the level of the oil was getting lower while the highest value of the usage within 1000 km was given by the producer of the vehicle. Because of the growing number of the cases when the oil gets to the engine, the article presents the research on it and discusses the causes of the problem. This problem is of such an importance due to the fact that because of the oil in the engine crankshaft's bearing get destroyed which influences the condition of the engine. (The mixture of the engine oil as well as the diesel oil has different proprieties than the engine oil) or the destruction of the engine due to the oil sucking to fumes space.
