Przestrzeń w miastach stanowi jeden z najbardziej deficytowych i zarazem pożądanych zasobów, pomimo tego w polskich warunkach występuje często znaczna dysproporcja funkcjonalna geometrii ulic, w której największą szerokość zajmuje jezdnia oraz miejsca do parkowania, przy jednoczesnym marginalizowaniu ciągów pieszych i rowerowych. Tymczasem w obszarze zurbanizowanym, planowanie i projektowanie przestrzeni powinno być ukierunkowane na pieszego, a nie na przemieszczanie się pojazdów. W artykule przedstawiono przykłady działań mających na celu podniesienie jakości i bezpieczeństwa infrastruktury komunikacyjnej w miastach, jako działań pośrednich przy wprowadzaniu porządkowania parkowania, na przykład w ramach wdrażania strefy płatnego parkowania.

The ongoing boom of investments in the Polish cities, in which the development of transport infrastructure is one of the most important priorities should be used more often to increase its functionality, safety and design. In the urban space planning and design focus should be on pedestrians, not the movement of vehicles. The paper shows examples of measures taken to improve quality, including safety, of transports infrastructure in the cities, as indirect tasks when entering the parking organization, for example under an implementation of paid parking zones.

Experimental studies of a moveable wall to a shock wave

This paper explains the experiment conducted in order to reveal the response of a movable wall on a shock wave generated by ignition of a pyrotechnic gas generator dedicated for the automotive industry. This same kind of a pyrotechnic gas generator was used in each test. The test station consists on a pyrotechnic actuator in which the movable wall is expressed as a piston. The pyrotechnic actuator was specially design for such type of an investigation. Its design allows withstanding numerous tests without affecting the accuracy, and it is prepared to pressure measurement in three locations on the cylinder. However, here only the pressures measured in the vicinity of a cylinder bottom are under deliberation. This paper focusses on a shape of the piston influence on its movement characteristics (i.e. stroke velocity and acceleration). The experiment has shown that there is an influence of the shape of the movable wall on its movement characteristic. Furthermore, the experiment explained here constitutes a comparison of a piston velocity and acceleration with a flat and concave front surface. The dynamic pressure measurement have proven that the reflected shock wave increases its speed affecting the piston movement.

Numerical analysis of the possibility of using an external air bag to protect a small urban vehicle during a collision

This paper presents a three-dimensional model of an airbag located outside of a small city car at the front bumper, which is intended to protect the vehicle against the effects of road traffic collisions. Results of numerical simulations of airbag operation in case of collision with two types of obstacles are presented: a flat, vertical wall and a circular pillar with a diameter of 200 mm. The paper presents the physical model, which is the subject of simulation, along with its mathematical description and the numerical calculation scheme used.

Praca zawiera opis trójwymiarowego modelu zewnętrznej poduszki powietrznej ulokowanej na zderzaku małego samochodu miejskiego. Poduszka ta ma za zadanie chronienie zarówno pojazdu podczas zderzenia z przeszkodą jak i przechodnia podczas zderzenia z pojazdem. W pracy przedstawiono rezultaty obliczeń numerycznych zderzenia z płaską przeszkodą i przeszkodą w formie walca o średnicy 200 mm. W pracy zaprezentowano fizyczny model poduszki, wraz z modelem matematycznym i schematem obliczeniowym.
