The paper shows the diagnostic problems of high-pressure pipelines according to its plastic strain caused by the creep during its exploiting. Methodology of investigation of this phenomenon was shortly described. Analysis of some factors, often omitted in the practice, which have influence on accuracy and reliability of researches and estimation of pipelines safety and usefulness to the further work. In this paper results of many years measurements of steam pipelines creep was used.
