W ostatnich latach zainteresowanie pasywnymi sieciami wielomodowymi szybko rośnie. Przedstawiono możliwości komercyjnego zastosowania pasywnych wielomodowych struktur sieciowych. Zaproponowano kilka podstawowych struktur sieci, zbudowanych na bazie światłowodów Gl 50/125 um oraz sprzęgaczy Gl 50/125/um. Rozważono możliwe do osiągnięcia rozmiary oraz szybkości transmisji w proponowanych strukturach sieci wielomodowych.

During last year the interest in passive multimode fiber networks increased very strongly. These networks should be cheaper and more comfortable than single mode structures. The paper presents possibilities of commercial application of multimode passive network structures. In the paper a few fundamental structures of fiber network are proposed, built on the base of multimode fiber Gl 50/125 u,m and couplers Gl 50/125 urn. We consider a possibility to achieve both: their dimensions and speed transmissions in proposed multimode network structures. These parameters were estimated after experimental measurements of both: BER and transmission bands for investigated networks.

Compensation of the dynamic error in burst-mode fibre optic receivers based on preamble filtering

In the paper the extension of the idea of the threshold generation circuitry based on preamble filtering, and dedicated for fibre-optic packet receivers, is presented. In such a circuit, during the phase of sweeping the time constant of the controlled filter some error arises. During further filter operation, this error diminishes, but the time necessary for this is quite long comparing to the bit period. This error is responsible for pulse width distortions of received bits and degrades bit error rate of the link. It is shown that this error may be compensated in the rceeiver what is proved by experimental data.
