The influence of flow destabilization in the vicinity of a powder layer on the aerosol emission efficiency, particle size distribution and the pressure drop in a resuspension chamber was investigated experimentally. It was demonstrated that airflow arrangement around a powder layer has a primary influence on the aerosol emission efficiency and particle size distribution. The results were discussed in respect to the operation of medical dry powder inhalers.
