Przeprowadzono ocenę parowania wskaźnikowego liczonego wzorem Penmana pod kątem zróżnicowania jego wartości w różnych siedliskach glebowo-wodnych użytków zielonych. Na podstawie badań w czterech siedliskach wykazano, że wzór ten daje zbliżone wartości. Do sterowania nawodnieniami właściwsze jest stosowanie parowania wody jako parowania wskaźnikowego. Zaproponowano wzór na obliczanie parowania wody na podstawie niedosytu wilgotności powietrza.

Evaluation of reference evaporation according to the Penman formula was carried out in view of the differentiation of various soil-water grassland sites. Based on investigations in the four sites it has been proved that the Penman formula gives the approximate values. The Penman formula can be used for the calculation of grassland evapotranspiration and water demand provided crop factors are determined on the basis of lysimeter measurements carried out in the same sites. Open water evaporation is more suitable for irrigation control. For this purpose it should be measured in irrigated area. The formula for calculation of open water evaporation on the basis of vapour pressure deficit is proposed in the form of a nonlinear relationship. The vapour pressure deficit should be measured in irrigated area. Otherwise, when it is measured outside a grassland valley in an upland site, the reduction of this parameter is indispensable.
