This study was conducted in a company that produces palm oil-based products such as cooking oil and margarine. The study aimed to encounter defects in packaging pouches. This study integrated the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) with the six sigma DMAIC method. The OEE was performed to measure the efficiency of the machine. Three factors were measured in OEE: availability, performance, and quality. These factors were calculated and compared to the OEE world-class value. Then, the Multiple Linear Regression was performed using SPSS to determine the correlation between measurement variables toward the OEE value. Lastly, the six sigma method was implemented through the DMAIC approach to find the solution and improve the packaging quality. Supposing the recommendations are implemented, the OEE is expected to increase from 82% to 85%, with availability ratio, performance ratio, and quality ratio at, 99%, 86%, and 99.8%, respectively.

W artykule omówiono specyficzną grupę opakowań do przewozu materiałów niebezpiecznych transportem lotniczym i wymagania co do ich jakości. Przedstawiono podział tych opakowań, a także metody ich konstruowania i doboru materiałów. W zakresie metod konstruowania opakowań przedstawiono postępowanie klasyczne oraz z zastosowaniem inżynierii odwrotnej. Podano też typowe zagrożenia dla transportowanych materiałów, opakowań, ich przyczyny oraz skutki.

This article presents selected topics related to the issues of air transport of packaging intended for dangerous goods and packaging quality requirements. The division of these packages as well as the methods of their construction and selection of materials are presented. The classical methods and reverse engineering were presented in the field of packaging construction methods. Typical hazards for transported materials, packaging, their causes and effects are also given.

BRC/IoP (British Retail Consortium / Institute of Packaging) is the only industry standard dedicated entrepreneurs operating in the packaging industry, primarily intended for contact with food. The requirements of the BRC /IoP guarantee the safety of packaging and fulfillment of all legal and hygienic requirements. The article presents the main features of the standard, the basic requirements contained in the document and the results of research on the implementation of quality management systems, including standard BRC/IoP and the actions that are required checklists. It is noticeable that there is little interest in certification BRC/IoP, due to low awareness of the standard, despite the fulfillment of some of the basic requirements of the surveyed companies.
