Purpose: The goal of the article is to present oversized transport in the context of urban logistics as the impact of available urban infrastructure, documentation and means of transport on the flow of oversized cargo between the place of loading and the place of receipt. Abnormal load transportation is carried out with the use of public and private roads. It affects the infrastructure and safety of the city through which it takes place, because usually a given section of the road is not excluded during the journey. Design/methodology/approach: The article is based on a broad analysis of Polish and foreign literature. The article also contains an example of the organization of abnormal load transport by one of the Polish enterprises, which was awarded the prestigious “ESTA Awards of excellence 2017” in the category of transport over 120 tonnes. Findings: Oversized transport has a big impact on the temporary functioning of freight flows in the city. The city's spatial development and legal norms significantly influence the oversize transport reduction. It is interesting area of research developing in the future. Originality/value The article shows oversized transport in the context of the city and freight flows in the city.

W ostatnim czasie obserwowany jest rozwój transportu ponadgabarytowego (zwanego również ponadnormatywnym, nienormatywnym). Planowanie każdego transportu ładunków ponadgabarytowych jest indywidualnym projektem, składającym się ze skoordynowanych działań, ułożonych w odpowiedniej kolejności. Celem artykułu jest opis organizacji transportu domu modelowego jako przykładu ładunku ponadgabarytowego. Najbardziej ograniczającymi transport parametrami okazały się wysokość i szerokość ładunku. Opisany transport domu modelowego jest jednym z wielu przykładów transportów ładunków ponadgabarytowych. Transport ładunku ponadnormatywnego, pomimo wielu organiczeń został zrealizowany bez żadnej usterki.

Currently development of oversize transport can be observed. Organization of oversize loading are individual project, which depend on coordinated operations. This paper describes organisation of transport operations with select of trailer, designate a road and adaptation od road infrastructure. Most problematic parameteres in this transport were width and height of house. Transport of model house was an example of oversize loading. Transport of oversized load was realized without problems.

The presented material is an attempt to answer the research problem, which is: appropriately designed transport process, service, and communication can help to increase the added value for the logistics operator, production company that eventually and a client. The article discusses the importance of transport in the economy and presents key findings from research based on a representative entity.

Artykuł prezentuje problematykę wyboru operatora usług logistycznych w celu realizacji transportu ponadgabarytowego dla sektora energetycznego. Transport ponadgabarytowy jest nierozerwalnym elementem każdej dużej inwestycji energetycznej, co w kontekście konieczności modernizacji i rozbudowy polskiej energetyki oznacza, iż problemy transportowe dotkną w najbliższym czasie całą branżę. Kluczowym zagadnieniem, które dotyczy zleceniodawcy/inwestora w przemyśle energetycznym jest właściwy wybór kooperantów w tym zakresie. Operatorzy usług logistycznych 3PL/4PL wymagają oceny wartościującej ze względu na cenę usługi, czas realizacji, elastyczność, potencjał usługobiorców, ich możliwości, jak również ryzyko niedotrzymania warunków umowy. Ocena i wybór operatora logistycznego w zakresie transportu ponadgabarytowego w sektorze energetycznym wymaga odpowiedniego wsparcia procesów decyzyjnych w ujęciu wielokryterialnym i wielopoziomowym. Przedstawione w artykule rozważania stanowią obszar analizy źródeł wtórnych (deskresearch) w zakresie zdefiniowanego problemu.

The paper presents the issues of logistics service provider selection in order to conduct oversized transport for the energy sector. Oversized transport is an inseparable part of every large energy investment, which in the context of the need for modernization and development of the Polish energy sector means that the transport problems in the near future will affect the entire industry. A key issue that relates to the client service/investor in the energy industry is the right choice of suppliers in this field. 3PL/4PL logistics service providers require value judgments because of the service price, delivery time, flexibility, potential of service recipients, their capabilities, as well as the risk breach a contract. Evaluation and selection of a logistics operator for the oversized transport in the energy sector requires adequate support decision-making processes in terms of multi-criteria and multi-level. Considerations presented in this article are the area of desk research analysis in the field of the defined problem.

W artykule przedstawiona została metodologia wyznaczania korytarzy tego typu, a także ich planowany przebieg dla obszaru Polski.

The paper presents problems of oversize cargo (OC) carried by various modes of transport, relevant legal instruments and problems that carriers face during the preparation and transport of extremely heavy and/or huge pieces of cargo in Poland. The international program Oversize Baltic will be described. The program aims at the standardization of procedures connected with the carriage of oversize cargo pieces in the South Baltic Region. The OV corridors in Poland are presented. Oversize transport is indispensable for economic growth of every nation, but its organization varies in each country of the South Baltic region. Oversize cargo is called a cargo that exceeds mean allowable parameters of a vehicle in terms of dimensions, shape geometry or allowable loads on unit surface area. Unloading of a tank, transport of wide oversize cargo, transport of equipment modules for the refinery industry by C. Hartwig - Katowice S.A., unloading of 330 ton generator from the NORCA wagon by the Metalchem Serwis Ltd, transport of oversize elements, operated by Best-Logistic Sp. z o.o., transport of a drilling rig, transport of a frigate USS Samuel B.
