W artykule scharakteryzowano najważniejsze informacje dotyczące szczególnej grupy smarów wapniowych – na bazie nadzasadowego sulfonianu wapnia. Omówiono technologie ich otrzymywania z jednoczesnym podsumowaniem dostępnych patentów. Zaprezentowano główne kierunki zastosowań tego typu smarów, jak również korzyści wynikające z ich stosowania. Przedstawiono smary wapniowe sulfonianowe obecne na rynku oraz ich globalną produkcję na tle innych gatunków smarów.

This paper characterises the most important information of a particular group of calcium greases namely overbased calcium sulfonate greases. The technology for obtaining overbased calcium sulfonate greases was discussed with available patents taken simultaneously into consideration. The main directions of application of these type greases were described, as well as the benefits resulting from their application. Overbased calcium sulfonate greases available on the market as well as their global production, was presented, against the background of other types of greases.
