W artykule przedstawiono zagrożenia środowiska naturalnego powodowane przez instalacje demontażu samochodów wycofanych z eksploatacji. Określono wymogi, jakie powinna spełniać instalacja demontażu samochodów wycofanych z eksploatacji, aby uzyskać pozwolenie zintegrowane.

In the article there arę presented legislative determinants imposing an obligation to ob-tain an integrated permil for installation able to significanlly affect on natural environment. An integrated permit covers - in one decision - an approval for all lypes of pollutions affecting on all environmental components: gases or dust in atmospheric air, liquid wastes in inland waters or ground, noisiness, industrial waste products. There arę also determined necessary conditions for the car-breaking installation in order to obtain an integrated permit: abatement of influence on natural environment conceming operating, technology, engineering processes, supply and stock management, energy man-agement, administration etc.

Issues dealing with recycling of out-of-use vehicles are presented in the paper. A condition of car recycling market in Poland is described. The development alternatives of car recycling network in Poland including technical, economic and law aspects are also shown.

The paper concerns assessment of recycling scenarios in Poland. The LCA method and Ecoindicator 99 tool are used to evaluate environmental aspects of recycling processes. The results of analysis of environmental consequences are presented. The results obtained illustrate a scale of environmental impacts corning from improper utilization of out-of-use vehicles.
