Knee joint injuries account for 15-30% of all body injuries. Unfortunately the basic means of after-an-injury immobilisation is still a plaster, which can cause numerous complication in knee treatment and can prolong the rehabilitation process. An efficient and at the same time comfortable alternative for the patient is a textile stabilising orthosis. The article presents the general application requirements concerning textiles for the stabilising orthoses. The requirements are determined by specific application conditions.
