Within this paper, we set up an exploratory interview study to examine the impact of digital technologies on the way employees work as well as the specific opportunities and challenges SMEs are facing. We show that digitalization has already triggered a wide range of changes. The individual extent of these changes as well as the perception of technological trends varies for each employee and each company depending on the context. Our study also shows that the SMEs interviewed have applied a wide range of tools and strategies to exploit the opportunities of digital technologies and to overcome the associated challenges.

Content available remote Critical Success Factors for Digitalization Projects
EN
Our paper provides insights into which critical success factors (CSFs) for digitalization projects are seen as important from the companies' perspective based on an online survey. The results presented in this paper show that CSFs of the dimensions of Corporate organization and Technology are considered to be of particular relevance, as stated by the companies, with Corporate culture, Top management support, and a Unified digital corporate strategy/vision as the three most important CSFs. Therefore, this paper contributes to the CSF research regarding digital transformation and enables the development of practiceoriented recommendations for action and assistance in shaping digital transformation.

In recent years, the tourism industry has been undergoing a period of transformation, not least due to innovative and disruptive business models entering the market. Companies are increasingly focusing on customer needs and try to meet them with digital approaches. The early recognition of rapidly changing needs and their reactions is challenging. This paper examines four factors influencing the potentials of the changing customer needs and ongoing digitization in the tourism industry. A hypothesis model developed in previous qualitative research is examined in this paper with a quantitative approach using structural equation modeling. 157 responses from the target group were analyzed to test the factors digital marketing, data mining, digital services and online travel communities. The results of this paper show that digital marketing and data mining have a positive as well as highly significant influence on the potentials of digital approaches in a tourism industry with changing customer needs.

Content available remote Digital assets for project-based studies and data-driven project management
EN
Projects offer learning opportunities and digital data that can be analyzed through a multitude of theoretical lenses. They are key vehicles for economic and social action, and they are also a primary source of innovation, research, and organizational change. This research involves a survey of digital assets available through a project; specifically, it identifies sources of data that can be used for practicing data-driven, context-specific project management, or for project-based academic research. It identified four categories of data sources - communications, reports/records, model representations, and computer systems - and 48 digital assets. The list of digital assets can be inputs in the creation of project artifacts and sources for monitoring and controlling project activities and for sense-making in retrospectives or lessons learned. Moreover, this categorization is useful for decision support and artificial intelligence systems model development that requires real-world data.

Content available remote Motivations for BPM adoption: initial taxonomy based on online success stories
EN
The main aim of this research in progress is to develop an initial taxonomy of motivations underlying BPM (Business Process Management) adoption in organizations. This initial study is based on the analysis of 75 customer cases and success stories published on-line by BPM system vendors and BPM consulting companies. We used the mixed conceptual/empirical approach to taxonomy development basing the empirical analysis on descriptive data-coding canon. As the result of our research we present an initial taxonomy of the motivations for the adoption and use of BPM that consists of three dimensions: the organizational scope of a BPM initiative (enterprise-wide, process-focused or task oriented); presence (or not) of the information technology component; and, the importance of external versus internal drivers motivating a BPM initiative. Proposed initial taxonomy will be developed in further research and will serve to link the motivation to change with the expected benefits of BPM adoption.

This study is a part research on the effect of information and communication technologies (ICT) adoption on sustainable development in the enterprises' context [1]--[3]. Its main purpose is to identify parameters stimulating the progress of ICT adoption and sustainable development and assess the two constructs based on these parameters. The identified parameters of ICT adoption are grouped into four categories i.e., ICT outlay, information culture, ICT management, and ICT quality, whereas the parameters of sustainable development are classified into ecological, economic, socio-cultural, and political sustainability categories. This study employs a quantitative approach and descriptive statistics are employed to evaluate the levels of ICT adoption and sustainable development. The survey questionnaire was used and data collected from 394 enterprises were analyzed. The research findings reveal that digital and socio-cultural competences of employees and managers, financial capabilities ensuring ICT projects as well as law regulations associated with ICT adoption, and information security were at the highest level within enterprises. However, the lowest level was specific for BI and ERP system adoption as well as the adoption of latest management concepts and the exploitation of synergies between national ICT projects and own ones. Moreover, the improvement of efficiency and effectiveness of customer services, better and more efficient organization of work, the enhancement of customer satisfaction and loyalty as well as the increase of new customers and markets as a result of ICT adoption were at the highest level within enterprises. However, the lowest level was specific for enterprises' participation in the democratic public decision-making as well as energy savings and environmental protection. This study advances ongoing research on ICT adoption and sustainable development by exploring parameters which can be used to describe and assess the levels of ICT adoption and sustainable development in the context of enterprises. Moreover, these parameters help clarify areas that need further improvement and stimulate the progress of ICT adoption and sustainable development.

Content available remote Logistyka odzysku w remontach obiektów budowlanych
PL
W artykule omówiono logistykę odzysku wyrobów i surowców budowlanych podczas robót remontowych i rozbiórkowych obiektów. Szczegółowe aspekty ekonomiczne i organizacyjne występujące w obsłudze logistycznej takich przedsięwzięć zostały zaprezentowane na przykładzie kapitalnego remontu jednego z domów studenckich AGH w Krakowie. Analiza zastosowanych sposobów utylizacji odpadów (materiałów) z rozbiórki pozwoliła na ich ocenę i wykorzystanie doświadczeń tego przedsięwzięcia w zarządzaniu logistyką odzysku w budownictwie.
