The mathematical model is proposed to determine the foundry charge mixture used to mitigate for incorrect chemical composition of the liquid metal inside the furnace. An uncertain chemical composition of the charge is modelled using the fuzzy set theory with various membership functions. The calculation procedure is illustrated by an example, supported by an interpretation of thus obtained optimisation data.
