Medical information systems could benefit from electronic health records management using openEHR. On the other hand, such a standard adds an additional software layer to the system, which might impact performance. In this article, we present an in-depth comparison of open-source openEHR servers and propose tools for testing them. Load tests for selected opensource servers were prepared using Apache JMeter. Statistics of elapsed time of requests and throughput of each solution were calculated. Results show that open-source openEHR servers significantly differ in performance and stability and prove that load testing should be a crucial part of a development process.

Health informatics is characterized by the need to securely store, process and transmit large amounts of sensitive medical data while ensuring interoperability with other systems. Among many standards used in such systems there are two which have gained interest in recent years and cover most of those needs: openEHR and HL7 FHIR. In this paper, both standards are discussed and compared with each other. The architecture of both systems, the similarities and differences, methods of data modeling and ensuring interoperability were presented.

Systemy informatyczne w medycynie charakteryzują się potrzebą bezpiecznego przechowywania i przetwarzania dużych ilości wrażliwych danych medycznych przy jednoczesnym zapewnieniu możliwości współpracy z innymi systemami. Istnieją dwa konkurencyjne standardy medyczne, które na to pozwalają: openEHR oraz HL7 FHIR. W niniejszej pracy omówiono oba te standardy oraz porównano je ze sobą. Przedstawiona została architektura obu systemów, podobieństwa i różnice, sposoby modelowania danych oraz zapewnienia interoperacyjności.
