Przeprowadzono analizę budowy pięciu różnych odcinków sieci wodociągowych. Z analizy kosztorysów wynika, że zastosowanie metody przewiertu sterowanego jest tańsze niż prowadzenie prac metodą wykopu otwartego, zarówno w terenach mniej zurbanizowanych, charakteryzujących się mniejszym natężeniem, jak i w terenach ze wzmożonym natężeniem ruchu.

A water supply network can be built using both, the traditional open-cut method and the trenchless method. The developers’ interest in trenchless solutions stems, among other things, from lesser amount of digging which is undesirable in places that are hard to reach or highly urbanized. A comprehensive cost analysis to choose the method should include all pros and cons of both methods for a particular project. Five different sections of water supply networks were analysed. The cost comparison indicates that using the horizontal drilling method is less expensive than the open-cut method, both in less urbanized areas with reduced traffic intensity and in areas where traffic is heavier.
