In the contact zone of the Bardo Structure and Kłodzko-Złoty Stok Intrusion and Kłodzko Metamorphic, metasomatic orebearing quartz-carbonate veins rich in Sb, Zn, Cu, Ag, Au, Pb are present. In 1771 the mine ,,Reiche Silber Gluck” within stibnite vein was founded in Dębowina near Bardo. Its entrance was discovered again in 2007. The stibnite vein is mainly build of stibnite and sphalerite and of quartz and dolomite rich in Mn. Stibnite crystallizes as columnar or forming radiate centres and aciculars. Its crystals reach size to 2 mm. Sphalerite appears as individual anhedral and polymineralic grained concentrations reaching size to 2,5 mm. Earlier pyrite and arsenopyrite crystallized – they occur locally in this deposit. There were found also in the deposit tetrahedrite rich in Ag, what wasn't reported earlier in studies from the mine in Dębowina.

W 1961 roku z przyczyn ekonomicznych zaprzestano eksploatacji w kopalni złota i arsenu w Złotym Stoku. Był to najstarszy ośrodek górniczo-hutniczy w Polsce. Nieczynna kopalnia, po wieloletnim procesie rewitalizacji pełni dziś funkcję kopalni turystycznej, którą odwiedza ponad 120 tys. turystów rocznie. Zwiększająca się ciągle liczba zwiedzających wymogła na właścicielach i zarządzie kopalni konieczność usprawnienia ruchu turystycznego. W tym celu wykonano połączenie sztolni Czarnej Dolnej ze sztolnią Czarną Górną, reaktywowano zlikwidowaną kolejkę podziemną i zmodernizowano trasę turystyczną pod kątem zwiększenia jej atrakcyjności i przepustowości.

In 1961 the exploitation of gold and arsenic in the mine on Złoty Stok was abandoned due to economic reasons. It was the oldest mining and metallurgical centre in Poland. After many years of revitalisation the closed mine became a tourist destination, which is visited by more than 120 thousand tourists every year. The growing number of visitors necessitated from the owners of the Gold Mine some nationalisation of the tourist traffic. To meet this need a connection between Czarna Dolna drift and Czarna Górna drift was made; they also reactivated the underground train and modernised its route.

The mining industry residual risks can be divided into 6 main chapters which are as follows: surface instability, waste mechanical instability, waste chemical instability, waste fire, tailing dam’s instability, and residual contamination. Most of these risks are present in every old mine but their importance would depend mainly on the mining method, the depth, the type of ore or overburden materials, and the method of the dam building. They can be very different from one site to another. It seems to be important to analyse them site by site, and create a procedure to prevent all the buildings or infrastructures in the risky area from destruction. This procedure could be similar to the Seveso type industry building restrictions.

Zagrożenia występujące na terenach opuszczonych przez przemysł górniczy można podzielić na następujące kategorie: niestabilność powierzchni terenu, mechaniczna i chemiczna niestabilność składowisk odpadów górniczych, pożary hałd górniczych, niestabilność składowisk odpadów poflotacyjnych oraz ogólne zanieczyszczenie terenu. Większość tych zagrożeń występuje na wszystkich terenach starych kopalń, jednakże zależą przede wszystkim od stosowanych metod wydobywczych, głębokości kopalń, rodzaju rudy i nadkładu oraz metody konstrukcji składowiska poflotacyjnego. Rodzaj zagrożeń może bardzo różnić się w zależności od kopalni. Należy zatem zbadać je w każdym przypadku oddzielnie, a następnie dla każdego przypadku opracować niezależne procedury ochrony wszystkich budowli oraz infrastruktury znajdujących się na zagrożonym terenie. Taka procedura może być wzorowana na ograniczeniach wypracowanych dla budowli przemysłowych w przypadku Seveso.
