The dam construction has substantial impacts on the downstream environment even from the beginning of construction stages. The stage of impounding water is supposed to have the largest effects on the downstream environment. Monthly observation was carried out during the trial impoundment of a large concrete dam, including water temperature, organic matter fluxes, epilithic chlorophyll a, and macroinvertebrate communities both at the upstream and the downstream water of the impoundment. Both before and after the impoundment, the epilithic chlorophyll a contents and fine particulate organic matter (FPOM) fluxes variations were insignificant. As the impoundment volume increased the downstream water temperature substantially increased in comparison to upstream water temperature. Coarse particulate organic matter (CPOM) fluxes (gDW/10min) in the downstream became lower than that of the upstream even with one day of retention period. Chironomidae, Stenopsychidae, Simuliidae, Tipulidae and Hydropsychidae substantially enhanced immediately after the impoundment started, whereas, Taeniopterygidae and Chloroperlidae were declined. It was evident that the trial impoundment has a substantial effect on the downstream biota even from the low volume of water.

Celem pracy było określenie wpływu warunków i okresu przechowywania korzeni buraków ćwikłowych na ich jędrność. Jest to jeden z ważnych parametrów oceny jakości warzyw. W badaniach pokazano, jaki wpływ na ten parametr ma okres przechowywania buraka ćwikłowego odmiany Czerwona Kula w piwnicy i chłodni. Badania obejmowały pomiar maksymalnej siły uzyskanej w teście na ściskanie próbek w kształcie walca i kostki sześciennej. Były one przeprowadzone zaraz po zbiorze i w okresie czteromiesięcznego przechowywania, w cyklu trzytygodniowym. Analiza uzyskanych wyników wskazała występowanie jednorodności grup, które świadczyły o zmienności jakości buraków wraz z upływającym czasem. Przeprowadzona analiza regresji pozwoliła na uzyskanie funkcji o największym dopasowaniu wyników badań do modelu teoretycznego.

The objective of the paper was to determine the impact of conditions and storage period of beetroots on their firmness. It is a significant assessment parameter of vegetables quality. The research showed how storing time of Red ball beetroot in a cellar or a freezer influences this parameter. The research covered measurement of the maximum power obtained in the compression test of cylinder and cube shaped samples. They were carried out soon after cropping and in the period of 4-months storing in a three-weeks cycle. Analysis of the obtained results showed uniformity of groups, which proved variability of beetroots quality along with passing time. Analysis of regression allowed obtaining the function of the highest adjustment of the research results to a theoretical model.

Przedstawiono aktualny poziom i strukturę kosztów eksploatacji budynków i budowli magazynowych w przedsiębiorstwach o różnym typie produkcji rolniczej, a także wskaźniki oceny efektywności funkcjonowania magazynu. Stwierdzono, iż najwyższe koszty eksploatacji budynków i budowli magazynowych występowały w gospodarstwach o produkcji mieszanej - roślinnej i zwierzęcej - 0,99 tys. złźha-1 UR, a najniższe w gospodarstwach specjalizujących się w uprawach polowych - 0,27 tys. złźha-1 UR. W strukturze kosztów stałych największy udział we wszystkich analizowanych grupach gospodarstw zajmuje amortyzacja budynków, a zmiennych koszty energii elektrycznej i innej i koszty robocizny.

The paper presents current level and structure of operating costs for storage buildings and structures in enterprises characterised by various farm production types, as well as store functioning efficiency evaluation indexes. It was proved that highest operating costs for storage buildings and structures occurred in mixed production (vegetable and animal) farms - PLN 0.99 thousandźha-1 of farmland, and lowest - in farms specialised in field crops - PLN 0.27 thousandźha of farmland. Amortization of buildings has the highest share in the structure of fixed costs in all analysed groups of farms, whereas in case of variable costs these are electric and other energy costs, and labour costs.
