A leading idea of indirect actions is to defeat an enemy by destroying e.g. his logistic potential or selected sector of industry. At present, an extremely important strategic raw material is oil, as it turned out to be the most universal source of fuel. It thus stems from it that achievement of goals by means of indirect actions may lead to paralysis of the oil sector. The war experience proves that various actions were undertaken to stop oil extraction and processing as well as distribution of fuel in order for some political, economic and military intentions to be realized. Thus, the issue of effective protection and defense of key elements of the state oil sector should be taken into consideration as well as a diversification of oil and fuel delivery in quantities sufficient to ensure continuous and complete satisfaction of needs of the civil and military clients. in a situation of crisis, or even armed conflict.
