To explore the application of cold-formed thin-walled steel-paper straw board(CTSPSB) composite wall in practical engineering and further meet people’s living requirements, it was proposed to open holes in the composite wall to simulate the doors and windows in practical applications. Two composite wall specimens were tested to study the shear performance of the CTSPSB composite wall. Through the analysis of specimens’ damage forms and experimental data, the characteristic values of bearing capacity and lateral stiffness were obtained. And then, the model of the composite wall was built by ANSYS, and finite element analysis (FEA) results were consistent with the experimental results, which could verify the feasibility of the finite element model. Moreover, the model needed to open holes and extensive parameter analysis was carried out. The FEA results indicate the most reasonable distance between screws around the opening is 150 mm; the most suitable spacing between the small studs is 400 mm; the position of the opening has the least influence on the shear performance, and the difference between the results of the five groups of models is within 5%; while the width of the opening has the greatest impact on the shear performance. Compared with the wall without opening, the bearing capacity of the wall with an opening width of 600 mm, 1200 mm and 1800 mm decreases by 38%, 46% and 52% respectively. Besides, the calculation formula of shear capacity of CTSPSB composite wall with openings was improved, which could be used as experience for practical engineering.

The corrugated plate steel shear walls (CSPWs) are widely used as lateral force resistant members in high-rise buildings. However, buckling failure still easily occurred on corrugated steel plates subjected to earthquake loads, which is not good for the energy dissipation of structures. In this paper, the asymmetric diagonal stiffened beam-only-connected corrugated steel plate shear wall (ASW) is proposed. A test-validated FE modeling method is used to investigate the seismic performance of ASW, and the results are compared with the results of unstiffened corrugated steel plate shear wall (USW). Then parametric studies on the height-to-thickness ratio, wavelength, wave height of the corrugated plate and width-to-thickness ratio of the stiffeners are performed to investigate their effects on the seismic performance of ASW. Finally, a simplified theoretical model is developed to calculate the shear resistance of ASW, and the results are validated by tests and FE results. The results show that: (1) compared to the USW, the yield load and ultimate load of ASW increase 11.7% and 13.2%, respectively; (2) the theoretical calculation results are basically consistent with the FE and test results, and the errors between them are within ± 15%. These results can be used for seismic enhancement of CSPWs and seismic design of ASW.

This paper presents a comparative analysis of shear resistance in the interface between two concrete parts of concrete composite beam. The construction joint was performed as indented one in accordance with Eurocode 2 and fib Model Code 2010. The numerical calculation results were confronted with the actual results of tests of a composite beam subjected to 4-point bending. The displacement values of tested element were obtained using dial sensors and the digital image correlation method (DIC). The analysis shows that the recommendations of Eurocode 2-1-1 and fib Model Code 2010 do not reflect the actual behavior of concrete composite beam with indented surface.

W artykule na podstawie wyników badań modeli w skali naturalnej przeanalizowano wpływ zastosowania stalowych belek kapeluszowych WQ oraz Deltabeam w układach stropów typu Slim Floor na nośność na ścinanie sprężonych płyt kanałowych. Wykazano, że oprócz podatności belek istotny wpływ na siły niszczące mają warunki podparcia płyt HC na pasach dolnych stalowych belek kapeluszowych.

Based on results of research of models in the natural scale, the article analyzes the impact of application of steel WQ hat beams as well as Deltabeam in layouts of Slim Floor constructions on the load-bearing capacity to cutting of prestressed hollow slabs. The research has indicated that apart from susceptibility of the beams, a significant impact on the destructive forces is exerted by conditions of support of the HC slabs on lower bands of steel hat beams.

Artykuł stanowi podsumowanie wybranych badań wytrzymałościowych lekkiej podłogi, wykonanej w tzw. technologii suchej bez jastrychu. Niestandardowa konstrukcja grzejnika umożliwia jego wykorzystanie zarówno w systemach ogrzewania, jak i chłodzenia powierzchniowego. W artykule zaprezentowano rezultaty badań wytrzymałości na ścinanie i przyczepności cementowej zaprawy klejowej pomiędzy izolacją termiczną z płyt XPS o różnej strukturze powierzchni i płyt EPS, a posadzką w postaci płytek z gresu. Wyniki badań wytrzymałościowych potwierdzają możliwość stosowania lekkich płyt termoizolacyjnych jako alternatywnych w stosunku do podłóg z jastrychem, a w określonych sytuacjach jako jedynych możliwych do zastosowania.

The paper is a summary of selected strength tests of a lightweight floor made in the so-called dry technology which does not require screeds. The special technology of heater construction allows its use in both radiant heating and cooling systems. The article presents the results of shear strength and adhesion of cement adhesive tests between XPS thermal insulation boards with different surface structures and EPS boards, and the floor of ceramic tiles. The results of strength tests confirm the possibility of using insulation boards with light construction as an alternative to floors with screeds, and in some situations as the only one that can be used.

W artykule omówiono klasyfikację lepkościową samochodowych olejów przekładniowych, mechanizm działania wiskozatorów i metody oceny odporności na ścinanie. Zgodnie z SAE J306, ocena względnej utraty lepkości oleju prowadzona jest według normy CEC L-45-99 przy użyciu aparatu czterokulowego wyposażonego w głowicę z łożyskiem stożkowym. Przedstawiono szczegóły procedury badania CEC L-45-99 z uwzględnieniem precyzji metody oszacowanej na podstawie badań międzylaboratoryjnych. Zamieszczono przykładowe wyniki badań różnych olejów przekładniowych.

The article discusses the viscosity classification of automotive gear oils, mechanism of viscosity modifiers action and methods of assessing shear stability. According to SAE J306 the evaluation of relative oil viscosity loss is done using the CEC L-45-99 test method using the four-ball tester equipped with the tapered roller bearing adapter. Details of the CEC L-45-99 test procedure is presented taking into account the precision of the method estimated on the basis of interlaboratory studies. Test results of different gear oils are also included.

This paper presents the analysis of the effect of surface topography on shear strength of lap adhesive joints from steel S235JR. Steel surfaces were prepared to bond with various methods of mechanical treatment. It was found after using the linear correlation method that strengthening properties of tested joints are strongly correlated with hybrid surface topography parameters. Shear strength of milled adherends can be increased as a result of subsequent grit blasting.
