In this paper results of model investigations of impact-abrasive wear of samples surface of Hardox 400 and Hardox 500 steels are presented. The investigation were carried out on a test stand on which high-energetic fluid stream generated by ballistics method gives high density kinetic energy to steel globule. This kind of load produces deformations of samples surface which sizes and topography depend on structure and hardness of investigated steels. It has been shown, that Hardox 400 and Hardox 500 steels in deliver state (tempered martensite structure) are useful to application in conditions of abrasive wear and dynamic loads. The used test method, in connection with microscopic examination, allows to forecast behavior of materials in operating conditions.
