W referacie omówiono czynniki szkodliwe dla zdrowia występujące w odlewniach stopów żelaza. Przeprowadzona analiza została dokonana w oparciu o dane z około 40 krajowych odlewni żeliwa i staliwa o różnej wielkości zatrudnienia i skali produkcji. W odlewniach tych stosowano zróżnicowane technologie mas formierskich jak również technologie otrzymywania ciekłego metalu. Końcowym niekorzystnym efektem występowania zagrożeń na stanowiskach pracy są choroby zawodowe pracowników odlewni.

Work stands, especially in iron and steel foundries, can often create health and life hazards for workers. In the paper work stands where such hazards occur arc described in detail giving the measured values of these hazards when compared with the admissible levels. When discussing particular stands the technological order has been accepted, starting from the preparation of foundry patterns, through the mould-and coremaking processes, melting processes, to dressing of castings and their heat treatment. The occupation diseases which occur most often among workers in foundries have been pointed out. Judging from the measures taken by foundries in the past few years to improve the work conditions and from the considerable financial means assigned to this purpose one can come to the conclusion that the situation in constantly improving.
