W części 7 badań naprężeń wewnętrznych w papierze oceniono metody testowania naprężeń w kierunku jego grubości w sposób bezpośredni oraz pośredni. Wcześniejsze próby pomiaru naprężeń w sposób bezpośredni wykazały kilka trudności. W szczególności, metoda pomiaru jest trudna do wykonania oraz interpretacja otrzymanych wyników jest nie zrozumiała. Uproszczona metoda testowania pośredniego polega na pomiarze właściwości powierzchniowych papieru oraz jego grubości przed- i po kontakcie z wodą.

Part 7 of this study on the internal stresses in paper is dealing with the direct measurement or indirect evaluation of out-of-plane internal stresses in paper. On prior attempts, the measurement of these parameters directly has demonstrated a number of difficulties. Specifically, the measurement method itself and the interpretation of the generated results are not straightforward. The simplified evaluation of out-of-plane internal stresses is performed by monitoring paper changes of the surface and the bulk properties before and after contact with water.
