For years, the construction industry has been characterized by a high number of accidents at work, often with serious or fatal consequences. Therefore, it is necessary to search for new solutions and improve the existing ones in the area of accident prevention. Ensuring an appropriate level of safety in the construction industry is determined by properly targeted risk prevention activities and occupational risk assessment at individual positions. As indicated by the data of the National Labour Inspectorate, the correct performance of occupational risk assessment is often problematic for employers. This study aims to present the methodology of occupational risk assessment for selected positions in the construction industry and to emphasize the role of occupational health and safety in this sector of activity.

Branża budowlana od lat charakteryzuje się wysoką liczbą wypadkow przy pracy, często ze skutkiem ciężkim lub śmiertelnym, dlatego niezbędne jest poszukiwanie nowych rozwiązań oraz doskonalenie funkcjonujących w obszarze profilaktyki wypadkow. Zagwarantowanie odpowiedniego poziomu bezpieczeństwa w branży budowlanej determinowane jest przez właściwie ukierunkowane działania profilaktyki zagrożeń i ocenę ryzyka zawodowego na poszczegolnych stanowiskach. Jak wskazują dane PIP, prawidłowe wykonanie oceny ryzyka zawodowego przez pracodawcow niejednokrotnie jest dla nich problematyczne. Niniejsze opracowanie ma na celu przedstawienie metodyki postępowania przy ocenie ryzyka zawodowego na wybranych stanowiskach w branży budowlanej i podkreślenie roli bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy w tym sektorze działalności.

Człowiek w miejscu pracy może być narażony na oddziaływanie różnych czynników szkodliwych dla zdrowia i życia. Jednym z nich jest np. hałas, który może prowadzić do uszkodzenia słuchu, a także wpływać na układ nerwowy, układ krążenia i ogólną kondycję organizmu. Z kolei narażenie na pyły i chemikalia wywołuje m.in. choroby płuc, alergie, choroby skóry i nowotwory. Również stres w pracy może prowadzić do problemów zdrowotnych, m.in. chorób serca, nadciśnienia, a także zaburzeń psychicznych. Dodatkowo, czynnikami szkodliwymi mogą być także brak odpowiedniego oświetlenia i nieodpowiednia ergonomia pracy. Dlatego ważne jest, aby pracodawcy przeprowadzali regularne oceny ryzyka zawodowego i stosowali odpowiednie środki zapobiegawcze.

Purpose of this paper is to propose modernisation activities, including the improvement of machines and devices that will increase work safety during the epidemic state for the workplace of an injection moulding machine operator in a selected manufacturing company. Design/methodology/approach In the work brief analyses of a production line and a workplace of an injection moulding machine operator were carried out. Then the threats that occur at the analysed workplace were identified. The risk assessment was done using three methods: matrix according to the PN-N-18002:2011 standard, Risk Score and PHA. Findings The results of the occupational risk assessment obtained by the three assessment methods were similar and gave similar results. The greatest and unacceptable risk has occurred for the threat of SARS-CoV-2 virus infection. Therefore, the following modernisation solutions were proposed: the introduction of mandatory epidemiological questionnaires, online training for company employees, the use of a three-axis robot, replacement of traditional disinfection dispensers with automatic ones. Practical implications The results of re-assessing the occupational risk after introducing the proposed improvements showed that the occupational risk was significantly reduced – mainly to the low or very low levels. Originality/value The proposed modernisation solutions at the workplace of an injection moulding machine operator can be used for each workplace and each epidemiological state.

When discussing the effects and actions of arduous and harmful factors at a given workplace, the methods of occupational risk assessment and analysis should be specified.

About half of European workers believe that stress is common in their workplace and that it is the cause of about half of all lost working days. In Europe, 25% of workers report suffering from work stress all the time or most of their working time, with a similar percentage reporting that stress adversely affects their health. Estimates of costs borne by employers and society are considerable, amounting to tens of billions of euros at European level. Considering the exponential increase in the last decade of the impact of occupational stress and the direct implications on the health and well-being of workers, coupled with the low level of attention paid to this risk by employers and labor inspectorates in Romania, this paper aimed at developing a company-level research to validate the applicability of a specific psychosocial risk assessment tool. The preliminary results obtained confirmed the need to increase the real attention paid to this component of the health status of workers - and implicitly of enterprises - allowing the substantiation of a plan of measures designed to minimize psychosocial risks in the investigated company.

Reference was made to the relationship between the safety and health protection plan and the construction works schedule, occupational risk assessment and instructions for safe execution of construction works. The role of the safety and health protection plan in the construction process management, works coordination and informing contractors and their employees about the risks related to the construction process was presented. In the final part, an attempt was made to classify the most common irregularities that occur in safety and health protection plans, as well as the reasons for their occurrence.

Purpose: The aim was improving the process of risk assessment occupational for industry, by implemented in this process the fuzzy scale (and the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process, FAHP). Design/methodology/approach: The FAHP method was integrated with the PN-N-18002 method. Findings: It was demonstrated that implemented the FAHP method in PN-N-18002 method allows on more precise an assessment of the root of threats on the workplace. Research limitations/implications: This method can be used to risk assessment of each workplaces, by integrating the FAHP with any methods of occupational risk assessment. Practical implications: The assumption was to improve the method of risk assessment occupational for industry, in which as was shown the number of accidents in work was the highest. Test of the proposed method was carried out for the operator's position of a floating excavator KG-2.5 in one of Podkarpacie enterprise extracting aggregate. Social implications: This method can be helped to the entity performing the occupational risk assessment in precise identify the root of threats on the workplaces. This will ensure a safe workplace. Originality/value: The originality of the proposed method is to achieve more precise an assessment of the root of threats in the workplace than by using the traditional risk assessment methods.

Omówiono ogólne pojęcie pyłu, jego podział oraz główne źródła zapylenia. Przedstawiono skutki zdrowotne związane ze szkodliwym działaniem pyłów. Dokonano także analizy i oceny ryzyka zdrowotnego związanego z zapyleniem na stanowisku kombajnisty w ścianie. Omówiono czynniki, które przyczyniają się do powstania pyłu oraz sposoby redukcji i zwalczania zagrożenia pyłowego.

The article presents the problems associated with the harmful effects of dust (including coal dust) on the human body. The general concept of dust, its distribution and the main sources of pollination are discussed. Health effects related to the harmful effects of dust are presented. An analysis and assessment of health risk related to pollination at the cutter-loaderman’s position in the wall was made. Factors that contribute to the excessive formation of dust and methods of reducing and combating the dust hazard are discussed.

Celem niniejszego artykułu jest zwrócenie uwagi na znaczenie oceny ryzyka zawodowego w zawodzie strażaka. Zawód strażaka jest szczególnie narażony na czynniki, które negatywnie oddziałują na jego funkcjonowanie. Do tych czynników należą czynniki uciążliwe takie jak hałas czy wibracje oraz czynniki szkodliwe takie jak substancje żrące i trujące. Działanie tych czynników wpływa na jakość pracy strażaka. Mogą one powodować skutki takie jak: pogorszenie samopoczucia, dekoncentracja, rozkojarzenie, możliwość wystąpienia w późniejszym czasie choroby zawodowej. Kolejną grupą są czynniki niebezpieczne. To one mają bezpośredni wpływ na zdrowie, a nawet życie pracowników straży pożarnej. Do takich czynników w działaniach ratowniczo-gaśniczych należy przede wszystkim pożar. Jest to zdarzenie niekontrolowane niosące za sobą takie elementy jak wysoka temperatura, ogień, wysokie zadymienie, a także możliwość zawalenia konstrukcji na terenie których prowadzone są czynności ratownicze. Działania prowadzone przez strażaków mogą wpłynąć zarówno na ich bezpieczeństwo, jak i na bezpieczeństwo całego zespołu oraz osób którym niesiona jest pomoc. Ważną kwestią jest więc odpowiednio przeprowadzona ocena ryzyka zawodowego oraz prowadzenie działań mających na celu profilaktyczne uświadamianie pracowników straży o konsekwencjach nieprzestrzegania zasad bhp.

The purpose of this article is to draw attention to the importance of occupational risk assessment in the firefighter profession. The profession of a firefighter is particularly exposed to factors that adversely affect its functioning. These factors include nuisance factors such as noise or vibration, and harmful factors such as caustic and poisonous substances. The action of these factors affects the quality of the firefighter's work. They can cause effects such as: deterioration in well-being, distraction, distraction, and the possibility of an occupational disease at a later date. Dangerous factors are another group. They have a direct impact on the health and even life of firefighters. Fire is one of such factors in rescue and firefighting operations. It is an uncontrolled event with elements such as high temperature, fire, high smoke, and the possibility of collapse of the structures in which rescue operations are carried out. Activities carried out by firefighters may affect both their safety and the safety of the entire team and people who are being helped. An important issue is therefore a properly conducted occupational risk assessment and carrying out activities aimed at preventive awareness of guard employees about the consequences of failure to comply with the principles of occupational health and safety.

The purpose of this article was to identify occupational hazards at the laser cutter operator's workplace and to assess occupational risk. The article also indicates the basic requirements for the analyzed workplace. Research methods included: observation of the workplace (using a checklist), interviews with the employer, selected employees and a health and safety specialist, as well as analysis of the company's internal documents. The occupational risk assessment carried out at work using the Risk Score method showed that there are many different risk factors for accidents or diseases related to the work performed at the position of the laser cutter operator. However, thanks to the preventive measures applied, they are in the analyzed workplace at an acceptable (acceptable) level.

The operation of various types of machinery and equipment constituting a material work environment exposes employees to many different hazards (especially mechanical hazards). According to the Polish law, the basic duty of both machine manufacturers and employers is to limit the level of these hazards and to provide employees with broadly understood safety. The article presents the basic issues related to the technical safety of laser cutter operators on the example of a selected industrial plant. Technical and organizational solutions used to reduce the level of risk associated with the use of the selected machine were assessed.

The article presents a new method of risk assessment Risk Analysis. The first part of the article is an introduction that informs about the essence of risk assessment and addresses the lack of a parameter describing the impact of human behaviour on occupational risk in existing methods of risk assessment. The statistical information presented confirms the significant impact of human behaviour on the occurrence of an accident at work. The second chapter is devoted exclusively to the subject of risk assessment. The third chapter contains the main part of the article, i.e. the presentation of the author's own risk assessment method, which consists of an individually developed formula and parameters. The article presents the Risk Analysis method, as well as its features, which distinguish it from other methods. The method is characterized by accuracy, functionality, and an innovative approach to the subject of professional risk assessment.

W artykule omówiono możliwość partycypacji pracowniczej w obszarze bezpieczeństwa i higieny pracy polegającej na umożliwieniu każdemu pracownikowi dokonania szacowania ryzyka zawodowego na zajmowanym stanowisku pracy z wykorzystaniem kwestionariusza ankietowego. Wskazane zostały wady i zalety tego typu rozwiązania w odniesieniu do przedsiębiorstwa górniczego. Opisano również etapy procedury oceny ryzyka zawodowego.

The article discusses the possibility of employee participation in the area of occupational health and safety. Participation consists in enabling each employee to make an assessment of occupational risk in the occupied position using a questionnaire. The advantages and disadvantages of this type of solution are indicated in relation to the mining company. The stages of the risk assessment procedure are also described.
