Use of biofuels in a compression-ignition engine : comprehensive technical and economical analysis

The assessment of renewable fuels on the basis of the results of internal combustion engine’s tests is not clearly good or not good. Biofuels can be a part of sustainability from energy sources, energy security and energy diversity point of view. But they cannot be assessed better compared to the fossil diesel as for their combustion and air pollution and the engine’s external parameters. Comparison test series has been conducted with three different fuel and their controlled blends. These fuels were fossil diesel, the conventional, standardized biodiesel, and a new type biodiesel, which is the so-called TBK-biodiesel. These tests covered the physicochemical properties of the fuels, the engine external parameters, the combustion parameters and the exhaust emission of an internal combustion compression ignition engine. Furthermore, external costs have been calculated based on the emission results. Physicochemical properties, engine parameters, combustion parameters, exhaust emission and external costs have been observed as parameter groups, which contain many parameters. A complex evaluation could be built with the help of such kind of parameter set. On the basis of the results, it can be established that almost in the most cases the direction of the parameters’ changes is negative. Thus, the evaluation’s centre of gravity has been observed as shifted in the negative direction.

In article one of ways of improvement of automobile service quality by balanced development of firm service network is described. The analysis algorithm of network subjects work is done. As criterion of an estimation of network activity performance the estimation integrated indicator of all network and estimation complex indicators of its subjects are offered.

В статье описан один из способов повышения качества сервисного обслуживания автомобильной техники путем сбалансированного развития сети фирменного сервиса. Приведен алгоритм анализа работы субъектов сети. В качестве критерия оценки эффективности ее деятельности предложены интегральный показатель оценки всей сети и комплексные показатели оценки ее субъектов.

W artykule przedstawiono możliwości wykorzystania wskaźnika odpowiedniości do kompleksowej oceny statku powietrznego w procesie jego wyboru i porównywania. Wobec istnienia bardzo wielu różnorodnych kryteriów oceny statku powietrznego, którym przyporządkowane są różne stopnie ważności (istotności) zastosowanie odpowiedniości jako kluczowego kryterium stwarza możliwość jednoznacznego i prostszego przeprowadzenia procesu oceny. Rozszerza przy tym zakres oceny do całości zagadnień związanych z otoczeniem systemowym statku powietrznego w całym obszarze eksploatacji. Autor sygnalizuje problemy związane z określaniem odpowiedniości, szczególnie na etapie projektowania i wdrażania konstrukcji lotniczej w bliżej nie określonym systemie eksploatacji. Przedstawia podstawowe określenia odpowiedniości, jej miary i właściwości. Jednocześnie zwraca uwagę na inne nieznane dotychczas i nie zbadane cechy odpowiedniości, które mogą otwierać nowe perspektywy w metodach oceny statku powietrznego oraz bieżącym monitorowaniu eksploatacji.

The possibilities of application of the conformity index for a complex evaluation of an airship in the process of its selection and comparison are presented in the article. In the presence of many various criteria of an airship evaluation, to which different degrees of importance are assigned, the use of conformity as the key criterion enables explicit and simpler performance of evaluation process. Moreover it broadens the range of the evaluation to issues connected with the system surroundings of the airship in the whole area of maintenance as a whole. The author indicates problems connected with conformity definition, especially within the stage of design and implementation the aircraft design in not precisely defined conditions of maintenance. He presents basic terms of conformity, its measures and properties. Simultaneously lie pays attention to other unknown and inscrutable so far properties of conformity, which may show new perspectives to methods of airship evaluation and current monitoring of maintenance.

Przedstawiono metodę dokładnego pomiaru parametrów kształtu stożków wewnętrznych. Omówiono zastosowaną metodykę pomiarów i zaprezentowano, skomputeryzowane stanowisko wykorzystujace przyrząd do pomiaru odchyłek kształtu Talyrond 200 brytyjskiej firmy Rank Taylor Hobson, wykonane w Instytucie Metrologii i Systemów Pomiarowych Politechniki Warszawskiej. Opracowano program kompterowy umożliwiający pełną ocenę zarówno kąta wierzchołkowego mierzonego stożka, jak również jego parametrów kształtu (okrągłość przekrojów poprzecznych, prostoliniowość tworzących). Aby poprawić dokładność metody zastosowano numeryczną korekcję błędów wskazań czujnika pomiarowego.

The paper describes a method of precise measurement of the form parameters of conical holes with small dimensions. It also presents a computerised set-up, performed at warsaw University of technology, witch includes the Talyrond 200, British rank taylor Hobson. The computer software, developed, by the author, allow for complete estimation of the angle of the cone and the parameters of its form. In order to improve the accuracy of the method the numerical correction of the sensorerrors has been applied.
