The paper presents chosen tests results of layers of cellulose nanofibres modified by bismuth subgallate towards applying to dressing materials. Cellulose nanofibers were prepared by the dry-wet spinning method. To prepare the spinning solution cellulose solvent N-Methylmorpholine-N-oxide (NMMO) were used. For model samples of layers of modified cellulose nanofibres findings of the haemolytic action and testing the sorption properties by in vitro method were presented. The test results show that assessed layers from modified cellulose nanofibres fulfill the requirements for the materials intended for the contact with blood as well as demonstrate the increased sorption what can cause faster activation of blood clotting inside the dressing materials in the result of stopping blood in the material. The research work was carrying out in the frame of project No. NN 507 379 135: Cellulose nanofibres for medical applications.
