The results of investigations concerning the advantages and disadvantages of implementing the accredited systems of management in testing laboratories were presented in the paper. The advantages and disadvantages were pointed out by staff of the laboratories. The discussion about results of implementing the accredited systems of management in testing laboratories functioning in Poland was undertook.

W pracy przedstawiono zagadnienia związane z akredytacją laboratoriów badawczych i/lub wzorcujących według normy ISO/IEC 17025:1999. Wymagania związane z akredytacją laboratorium są sprawdzonym narzędziem doskonalenia zarządzania laboratorium i wiarygodności uzyskiwanych wyników. Z punktu widzenia klientów fakt akredytowania jest jednoznaczną informacją, że laboratorium jest kompetentne w zakresie akredytowanych usług i dzięki temu ma szansę na zwiększenie ilości zleceń. Z naukowego punktu widzenia standaryzacja badań/wzorcowań wynikająca z akredytacji podnosi rzetelność rezultatów prac naukowych i umożliwia porównywanie uzyskanych wyników pomiędzy różnymi.

The problem of accreditation system of testing and/or calibration laboratories according to ISO/IEC 17025:1999 standard is presented in the paper. Requirements referring to the laboratory accreditation are a verified tool for improving laboratory management and reliability of the results. From customer point of view accreditation is a clear and fully recognised confirmation that the laboratory is qualified to carry out accredited services. Owing to that fact it has a great chance to increase the number of orders. From scientific point of view standardisation of testing/ calibration resulting from the accreditation increases the reliability of the results of scientific papers and allows to compare the results between various laboratories.
