Cooperation of induction squirrel-cage generator with grid connected AC/DC/AC converter

The paper presents a squirrel-cage induction machine operating as a generator principally designed for use in small wind and hydroelectric power stations. The main advantages of such a generator are its high reliability, low price and costs of operation and maintenance. The asynchronous generator coupled to the grid through the AC/DC/AC converter is capable of generating energy even at low turbine speed. The results of investigations on the AC/DC and DC/AC converters controlled by linear and nonlinear current regulators are also discussed.

W artykule przedstawiono generator zbudowany z maszyny indukcyjnej klatkowej szczególnie predestynowanej do zastosowania w małych elektrowniach wiatrowych i wodnych. Zaletą takiego generatora jest wysoka niezawodność, niska cena i koszty eksploatacji. Generator asynchroniczny sprzęgnięty jest z siecią poprzez przekształtnik AC/DC/AC umożliwiający generowanie energii nawet przy niskiej prędkości turbiny. W artykule przedstawiono również wyniki badań przy sterowaniu przekształtników AC/DC i DC/AC z liniowymi i nieliniowymi regulatorami prądu.

The squirrel-cage induction machine operated as generator especially predestined to use in small wind and hydroelectric power stations is discussed in the article. The main advantages of such generator are high reliability, low price and costs of system exploitation. The asynchronous generator coupled with net by the AC/DC/AC is able to the energy generation even at low speed of the turbine. The results of the AC/DC and DC/AC converters controlled by linear and nonlinear current regulators investigations are discussed in the article.
