Since its establishment in 2020, the O-RAN ALLIANCE has undergone significant updates to the specifications of O-RAN. There have been notable advancements in the architectural aspects, interface details, and function definitions. The working groups release technical documents apaproximately every six months, new focus groups are formed, and emerging topics of interest are addressed. In line with the research advancements towards 6G in the field, the O-RAN ALLIANCE also considers this aspect. Recent trends such as security and energy efficiency in mobile networks are also being incorporated. This article provides an overview of the current status of standardization efforts and highlights the ongoing focus of the O-RAN ecosystem as per the abovementioned aspects.

Od momentu swojego powstania w 2020 roku, O-RAN ALLIANCE dokonała znacznych aktualizacji specyfikacji otwartych radiowych sieci dostępowych (Open RAN). Doszło do znaczących postępów w zakresie aspektów architektonicznych, szczegółów interfejsu i definicji funkcji. Grupy robocze wydają dokumenty techniczne mniej więcej co sześć miesięcy, tworzone są nowe grupy robocze, a adresowane są również nowe interesujące tematy. Wraz z postępami badań w kierunku 6G, O-RAN ALLIANCE bierze je również pod uwagę. Uwzględniane są także ostatnie trendy, takie jak bezpieczeństwo i efektywność energetyczna w sieciach mobilnych. W niniejszym artykule przedstawiono przegląd bieżącego stanu prac standaryzacyjnych i wyeksponowano bieżące tematy opracowywane w ekosystemie O-RAN zgodnie z nimi.
