Main problems of neogeodynamics phenomena investigation and mapping

The solution of the several problems of neogeodynamics phenomena investigation and mapping was one of the main tasks of the IGCP project No 346 "Neogeodynamics of Baltic Sea Depression and adjacent areas". Investigations performed for the project resulted in a series of international geodynamic maps showing vertical movements at the neotectonic stage, bottom part of Quaternary deposits, recent vertical movements, tectonic stress, epicenters of earthquakes, Moho discontinuity, neotectonic zoning and o on. Hence, the water surfaces of the Baltic Sea and the east part of the North Sea, the southern part of Scandinavia, the German-Polish Depression, the Central European block mountains and depressions, western part of the Russian Plain and, partly the Carpathians, were mapped. Despite of, that was done in traditional manner without any digitalization, the set of maps showing structure and its dynamics from the Quaternary capping down to the Moho surface fulfils requirements of the modern Information Technology, thus it may and can be computerized in follows of the GIS rules. That will enable authors to supplement project with the newest data, and restructure its visual appearance. In the attached presentation, authors review some problems of neogeodynamic researches in Belarus.

Do rozwiązania szeregu problemów neogeodynamiki w projekcie International Geological Correlaction Programme, projekt 346 ustalano związki między zjawiskami powierzchniowymi, a głęboką strukturą litosfery, polem naprężeń, sejsmicznością oraz rozmieszczeniem aktywnych uskoków, które są przyczyną trzęsień ziemi. W tym celu wykonane zostały kompleksowo dla obszaru zlewni Bałtyku i obszarów przyległych mapy utworów powierzchniowych, oraz mapy wgłębne sięgające aż do powierzchni Moho. Mimo, iż opracowanie to byłe wykonane bez procedur dygitalizacji i wektoryzacji, to spełnia ono w swej formie wymagania nowoczesnych technik informacji. Dlatego byłoby wskazane zdygitalizowanie i zwektoryzowanie całego opracowania w manierze GIS w celu wprowadzenia uzupełnień oraz umożliwienia nowoczesnej wizualizacji wyników. W załączonej prezentacji graficznej, autorzy przedstawiają problematykę badań neogeodynamicznych na Białorusi.

Tectonics is reflected both in terrain relief and in natural potential fields e.g. in gravity. The computer presentation of high-resolution gravity and terrain elevation data can reveal different facets of tectonics. Poland is covered by a gravity survey with a mean distance between stations of about 700 m. In addition to the gravity measurements, terrain elevation at gravity stations was determined with a high accuracy. All these data, now in a computer data base, were used for shadowed map presentation. The variable position of Sun, emphasizes various tectonic phenomena.

Zjawiska tektoniczne są odzwierciedlone zarówno w rzeźbie terenu, jak i w naturalnych potencjałach pól, np grawitacji. Szczegółowe dane grawimetryczne na obszarze Polski są zebrane w odstępach średnio co 700 m. W tych samych punktach określono także z dużą dokładnością rzędne terenowe. Przy wykorzystaniu możliwości prezentacji komputerowych na podstawie tych materiałów zostały opracowane izoliniowe mapy cieniowane rzeźby terenu i anomalii grawimetrycznych. W zależności od kierunku oświetlenia, można na podstawie tych map wyinterpretować różne zjawiska tektoniczne.

The crisis ecological situations for the greater part they are connected with the manifestation of endogenous, exogenous, and natural-technogenic processes. The study is oriented on endogenous processes, and associated with them exogenous processes in particular the most Recent ones. Ecological risk assessment with regard to neogeodynamic conditions is performed using data from step-by-step retrospective morphostructural analysis.

W większości kryzysowe ekologiczne zjawiska są nawzajem powiązane z technogennymi oraz naturalnymi endo i egzodynamicznymi procesami. Niniejsze opracowanie jest ukierunkowane na badanie procesów endogenicznych i związanych z nimi procesów egzogenicznych, szczególnie współczesnych. Ocena zagrożeń ekologicznych w nawiązaniu do warunków neogeodynamicznych jest prowadzona przy wykorzystaniu krok po kroku morfostrukturalnej analizy retrospektywnej.

During the progress of the IGCP Project No. 346 "Neogeodynamics of the Baltic Sea Depression and Adjacent Areas" new data were obtained which revealed the main peculiarities of the Neogeodynamic evolution of the East European Craton and the adjacent part of the Variscan Platform, and enabled study of the solution of one of the most debated problems in the geology of Europe - the genesis of the Baltic Sea Basin. The research works were performed over four years (1994-1997 by geologists from Belarus, Germany, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and the Ukraine.

W ramach realizacji międzynarodowego przedsięwzięcia badawczego IGCP, proj. 346 "Neogeodynamika zlewni Bałtyku i obszarów przyległych" uzyskano wiele nowych danych dotyczących młodej ewolucji kratonu wschodnio-europejskiego i przyległej platformy waryscyjskiej, jak również uzyskano nowe argumenty w ciągle aktualnej dyskusji na temat genezy Bałtyku. Prace badawcze były prowadzone w ciągu 4-ch lat (od 1995 do 1997) przez geologów z Białorusi, Danii, Litwy, Łotwy, Niemiec, Polski, Rosji i Ukrainy.
