For many years, satellite systems have seen widespread use in a variety of technical applications, as well as in operations related to setting-out and the exploitation of track infrastructure. Their main applications include an inventory of the trackage course and detecting changes in its position. In both of these tasks, the most important element that determines the quality of an analyses is the high accuracy of the determinations being carried out. Satellite surveying techniques are not always sufficiently accurate, and in such cases, it is necessary to employ other land surveying methods to process surveying data. This article presents the authors’ considerations with regards to the possibility of applying one of the most common land surveying adjustment methods, the parametric method, to operations related to an inventory of tram infrastructure in Gdańsk. The results are based on surveys carried out during a surveying campaign in the autumn of 2018. The considerations presented in the article concern a small part of the research conducted under project No. POIR.04.01.01-00-0017/17 entitled “Development of an innovative method for determining the precise trajectory of a railborne vehicle” which is being implemented by a consortium of Gdansk University of Technology and Gdynia Maritime University

EN
The reduction of sea ice area in the Arctic has increased the availability of the Russian Arctic seas for navigation by vessels of relatively low ice class. The signing of the Act on the Northern Sea Route (NSR) by the President of the Russian Federation has created the possibility for ships from countries other than Russia to use the NSR. However, the NSR is very poorly recognized in terms of navigation by countries other than Russia. The author of the paper analyzed the NSR navigation infrastructure components in terms of the reliability of the information provided by the main producers of nautical publications for initial voyage planning. For the purpose of this analysis an indicator of the quality of the navigation infrastructure was developed. The value of this indicator, obtained on the basis of the above analysis, is low. Navigators that collect information during the initial stage of voyage planning may be misled if they use nautical publications originating from only one global producer of charts and publications. If the navigators act in accordance with good seamanship and familiarize themselves with information from two or three global producers of nautical publications, they may be disoriented due to the receipt of divergent information. It seems that before the voyage begins and preferably before planning a trip, the master or owner of the vessel intending to carry out a voyage by the NSR should first use the most current local knowledge in the possession of the Northern Sea Route Administration. This is also where information can be found as to where to obtain the most current and reliable information for initial voyage planning.

The article analyzes the state of the inland navigation infrastructure on the upper Oder River in the area of Wroclaw Waterway Junction. The Wroclaw Waterway Junction consists of both the historical elements of the infrastructure, which have been successfully used to the present day, as well as modernized locks and canals. The junction has been created for many centuries, by which the existing technical solutions are diverse, and Wroclaw Waterway Junction is considered as one of the most complex and unique waterway junction in Europe.

The paper presents the possibility of using the navigational and maneuvering simulators software, for the verification of designed elements of navigational infrastructure. The article describes how to use the Navi - Trainer PRO 5000 simulator manufactured by Transas Marine to modeling sea waters. The Article is based on a scientific research project performed at the Institute of Navigation and Hydrography of Naval Academy of Gdynia. Project was aimed to check the possibility cut through the Vistula Spit and artificial connection the Gulf of Gdansk and Vistula Lagoon. The paper presents a description of creating a virtual basin with planned navigational infrastructure. There will by also presented the maneuvering tests for the assumed maximum ship model and few construction variants. Each of the project variants was tested in different hydro-meteorological conditions. The result of simulation tests are proposals that demonstrate the feasibility of the project and proposed possible changes affecting the level of safety.

Dysponując wiedzą o położeniu kamer monitorujących i sztucznych znaczników robot mobilny wykorzystuje analityczne modele niepewności sensorów do zaplanowania optymalnej sekwencji akcji pozycjonujących. Zaprezentowano wyniki badań symulacyjnych i eksperymentalnych.

This article studies positioning action planning issues for a mobile robot co-operating with an external infrastructure supporting its navigation tasks. The infrastructure consists of a number of stationary sensors (cameras) and artificial navigation aids (landmarks) placed in the environment. Analytical uncertainty models used in vision-based positioning are developed. An action planning procedure, taking into account in an exact way both the action cost and the positioning uncertainty is presented. Results of simulations and experiments are reported.
