Any proof of a hypothesis or research thesis requires the researcher to use methods that are optimally selected according to the organizational capabilities of the researcher, the adopted research budget, and, above all, the adopted research assumptions. An important factor is to optimize the possibility of obtaining a research result that most closely reflects the surrounding cognitive reality. In economics, which is included in the field of social sciences, an important plane of analysis is the so-called data, which the researcher must process and, using statistical methods, carry out the process of falsification or confirmation of the research hypothesis. An activity that broadens the cognitive value is qualitative methods and, more specifically, the information obtained using them. In this way, the researcher creates a comprehensive research process, in which quantitative methods are compiled with qualitative methods. Such a study is referred to as a method of triangulation of methods, which allows the researcher to confront the representative result of quantitative and qualitative research.

Każdy dowód hipotezy lub tezy badawczej wymaga od badacza zastosowania metod optymalnie dobranych do możliwości organizacyjnych badacza, przyjętego budżetu badawczego, a przede wszystkim przyjętych założeń badawczych. Ważnym czynnikiem jest optymalizacja możliwości uzyskania wyniku badań, który w największym stopniu odzwierciedla otaczającą rzeczywistość poznawczą. W ekonomii, zaliczanej do dziedziny nauk społecznych, ważną płaszczyzną analizy są tzw. dane, które badacz musi przetworzyć i przy użyciu metod statystycznych przeprowadzić proces falsyfikacji lub potwierdzenia hipotezy badawczej. Działaniem pogłębiającym wartość poznawczą są metody jakościowe, a dokładniej informacje uzyskane za ich pomocą. W ten sposób badacz tworzy kompleksowy proces badawczy, w którym metody ilościowe zestawione są z metodami jakościowymi. Takie badanie określa się mianem metody triangulacji metod, która pozwala badaczowi skonfrontować reprezentatywny wynik ilościowy z jakościowym rezultatem badań.

In 2023 Problemy Ekorozwoju/ Problems of Sustainable Development turned 18, entering adulthood one could say. The journal debuted on January 1, 2006 as a philosophical journal published only in Polish. From 2008 we begun to publish papers also in English and soon decided to publish only in English. The scope of the journal was expanded and we begun to be multidisciplinary, publishing papers from the humanities, economics and technical sciences (especially environmental engineering).We have always, however, been devoted to sustainable development problematics. Our wider approach offers a chance for Polish scientists to present their research in an international journal (also from the field of humanities, where there are fewer possibilities for international presentations) to foreign scholars and vice versa. Since there are no fees, the journal also is more accessible for scientists from poorer countries. So far we have published 36 numbers (18 issues) with almost 700 scientific papers. From 2010 the journal has been fully indexed in the Web of Science and Scopus. The current IF is 1.1 (in the previous year it was 0.864). Other metrics include: CiteScore (Scopus): 1.9, highest percentile: 57%, Index Copernicus Value ICV: 148.59 and SJR Scimago Journal & Country Rank h-Index: 21. Over the last few years one could observe improvement in all of our international parameters. We have always been an Open Access journal. In recent years we introduced DOI numbers, Open Access Statement and Copyright Rights, Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement. Soon we will also be visible in the Journal Checker Tool. From this number we are introducing Open Journal System (OJS). Currently the journal has the patronage of the European Academy of Science and Arts (Salzburg, Austria). The publisher is and has always been the Lublin University of Technology (Lublin, Poland).

W 2023 roku Problemy Ekorozwoju/ Problems of Sustainable Development kończą 18 lat, można powiedzieć, że wkraczamy w dorosłość. Czasopismo zadebiutowało 1 stycznia 2006 roku jako pismo filozoficzne wydawane wyłącznie w języku polskim. Od 2008 roku zaczęliśmy publikować artykuły również w języku angielskim i wkrótce zdecydowaliśmy się na publikację wyłącznie w języku angielskim. Zakres czasopisma został rozszerzony, czasopismo przybrało charakter multidyscyplinarny, publikując artykuły z zakresu nauk humanistycznych, ekonomicznych i nauk technicznych (zwłaszcza inżynierii środowiska). Zawsze jednak byliśmy oddani problematyce zrównoważonego rozwoju. Nasze szersze podejście daje polskim naukowcom szansę zaprezentowania swoich badań w czasopiśmie międzynarodowym (również z dziedziny nauk humanistycznych, gdzie możliwości prezentacji międzynarodowych są mniejsze) naukowcom zagranicznym i vice versa. Ponieważ nie ma opłat, czasopismo jest również bardziej dostępne dla naukowców z biedniejszych krajów. Dotychczas opublikowaliśmy 36 numerów (18 numerów) z blisko 700 artykułami naukowymi. Od 2010 roku czasopismo jest w pełni indeksowane m.in. w Web of Science i Scopus. Obecny IF wynosi 1,1 (rok temu było to 0,864). Inne wskaźniki obejmują: CiteScore (Scopus): 1,9, najwyższy percentyl; 57%, Index Copernicus Value ICV: 148,59 oraz SJR Scimago Journal & Country Rank h-Index: 21. W ciągu ostatnich kilku lat można było zaobserwować poprawę wszystkich naszych międzynarodowych parametrów. Zawsze byliśmy czasopismem Open Access. W ostatnich latach wprowadziliśmy numery DOI, Oświadczenie o otwartym dostępie i prawach autorskich, Etykę publikacji i Oświadczenie o nadużyciach. Wkrótce będziemy również widoczni w narzędziu Journal Checker. Od bieżącego numeru wprowadzamy Open Journal System (OJS). Obecnie czasopismo jest objęte patronatem Europejskiej Akademii Nauki i Sztuki (Salzburg, Austria). Wydawcą jest i zawsze była Politechnika Lubelska (Lublin, Polska).

Wprowadzeniem do problematyki kosztów w transporcie są dywagacje na temat teorii i praktyki w naukach ekonomicznych. W artykule omówiono ogólne cechy struktury kosztów w transporcie, czyli koszty utrzymania i eksploatacji infrastruktury transportowej oraz koszty utrzymania i eksploatacji środków transportowych. Specyficzne cechy struktury kosztów odnoszą się do ich charakterystyki branżowej, czyli do transportu kolejowego, samochodowego, wodnego śródlądowego i lotniczego. Ogólne i specyficzne cechy kosztów w transporcie znajdują swoje odbicie w rachunku kosztów transportu. Koszty transportu stanowią podstawowe narzędzie w podejmowaniu decyzji gospodarczych. Wprowadzeniem do problematyki kosztów w transporcie są dywagacje na temat teorii i praktyki w naukach ekonomicznych. W artykule omówiono ogólne cechy struktury kosztów w transporcie, czyli koszty utrzymania i eksploatacji infrastruktury transportowej oraz koszty utrzymania i eksploatacji środków transportowych. Specyficzne cechy struktury kosztów odnoszą się do ich charakterystyki branżowej, czyli do transportu kolejowego, samochodowego, wodnego śródlądowego i lotniczego. Ogólne i specyficzne cechy kosztów w transporcie znajdują swoje odbicie w rachunku kosztów transportu. Koszty transportu stanowią podstawowe narzędzie w podejmowaniu decyzji gospodarczych.

Discussions about the theory and practice in economic sciences are introduction to the issue of costs in transport are. This article contains general features of the costs structure in transport, that is the costs of maintenance and operation of transport infrastructure and the costs of maintenance and operation of the means of transport. Specific features of the costs structure relate to the industry characteristics, i.e. rail, road, inland waterway and air transport. General and specific characteristics of the transport costs are reflected in account transport costs. Transport costs are an essential tool in making economic decisions.

An example of the Faculty of Economy and Sociology of the Łódź University. Environmental education is an indispensable element of education at all its stages. The present socioeconomic situation and the quality of the natural environment require a professional training of the advanced education graduates to enable shaping the sustainable development processes both in local and global scale. The article presents a verification and assessment of the effective education standards of selected faculties from the area of economy sciences (economy, computer sciences and econometrics, finances and accounting, international economic relations, spatial management, logistics) in the context of the broadly understood environmental education together with the curricula and teaching methods applied at different economy specialisations at the Faculty of Economy and Sociology of the University of Łódź in the scope of environmental education.

The study comprised an analysis of the current education standards at the faculties of economy effective in Poland from the viewpoint of the presence of contents in the training programme minima related to sustainable development as the theoretical as well as practical development and management concept of the economies on the country, regional and global level. The article includes some postulates of changes which should be made in the programme minima so as to ensure that all students of these faculties gain not only the knowledge of the principles of sustainable development but how to realise them in policy and in the economic practice.

Elementem składowym niniejszego artykułu są zaprezentowane wyniki ankiety internetowej wśród przedsiębiorstw sektora TSL dotyczące zastosowań systemów EDI w tych przedsiębiorstwach.
