Naturalne pole temperatury gruntu jest funkcją czasu i głębokości, występuje z dala od różnego rodzaju źródeł ciepła. Wpływ na naturalne pole temperatury mają wahania temperatury powietrza zewnętrznego i średnie temperatury roczne. Pomiary pola temperatur w gruncie wykonywane przez Instytut Meteorologii i Gospodarki Wodnej (IMiGW) są prowadzone na otwartej przestrzeni, stąd też uzyskane w okresie zimy wyniki obarczone są błędem spowodowanym izolacją cieplną gruntu w postaci warstwy śniegu. Aby można było wykorzystać ogromy zasób danych dotyczących rozkładu temperatury w gruncie (w tym głębokości przemarzania gruntu) będących w zasobach IMiGW, należałoby ocenić wpływ zmiennej izolacji termicznej w postaci warstwy śniegu na otrzymane z pomiarów wartości. Próbę takiej oceny zamieszczono w niniejszym referacie.

Natural temperature field in the subsoil is a function of time and depth, it occurs away from various sorts of heat sources. Fluctuations of the outside air temperature and the average annual temperature have an impact on the natural temperature field. Measurements of the temperature field in the soil carried out by the IMiGW are conducted in an open area, hence results gained in winter are subject to error due to the thermal insulation of soil in the form of a layer of snow. To be able to use the huge amount of data on the temperature distribution in the subsoil (including the depth of frost penetration) held in IMiGW resources, we should assess the impact of the variable thermal insulation in the form of a layer of snow on the values obtained from the measurements. An attempt of such an assessment is described in this paper.
