An impact of poultry farms on the environment caused by ammonia emission from chicken manure has been studied. A negative impact minimisation method by adding natural sorbents to the bedding composition has been proposed. The optimum natural adsorbents compositions (clinoptilolite and palygorskite) for adding to the bedding as well as the optimum mixture ratio of these adsorbents to chicken manure mass have been determined. The optimum conditions for obtaining granulated organic-mineral fertiliser of prolonged action based on this composition have been studied. In the result of the research data analysis a technological scheme for organic-mineral fertiliser production based on chicken manure and a mixture of natural adsorbents have been proposed.

Water purification from oil and oil products is the final stage of its preparation before injection into the oil reservoir. Natural sorbents are preferred over synthetic ones for use on drilling platforms. They have minimal negative impact on the environment as well as constitute renewable and biodegradable resources. Several adsorbents, based on various natural materials, which could be potentially used for wastewater treatment systems on drilling platforms, were selected. Comprehensive studies of natural sorbents were conducted to determine the possibility of their use as a filtration material for wastewater treatment from oil and oil products on the drilling platforms. As a result of laboratory studies, it was found that the most promising solution is the use of several types of nut shells, which showed the best ratio of abrasion resistance and adsorption characteristics. Among the studied shell samples, pecan shells showed the highest oil product adsorption. As a result of the temperature treatment of the sorbent, it was possible to increase the value of oil products adsorption twice and the value of adsorption activity by almost 13 times without reducing the strength characteristics. It was found that it is advisable to carry out carbonization at a temperature of 400°C.

W artykule przedstawiono możliwości i perspektywy zastosowania adsorbentów naturalnych w systemach uzdatniania i odnowy wody. Adsorbenty pochodzenia naturalnego mogą być wykorzystywane w procesach fizycznych oraz fizyczno-chemicznych. Szczególną uwagę poświęcono możliwościom usuwania ze środowiska wodnego mikrozanieczyszczeń o działaniu toksycznym, kancerogennym oraz endokrynnym. Przedstawiono również możliwości technologiczne zastosowania montmorylonitu w układach zintegrowanych opierających się na procesach prowadzonych w sposób symultaniczny.

The article presents the applicability of natural adsorbents in the water treatment and water reuse technologies. Natural adsorbents are used in the physical and physico-chemical processes. Particular attention was paid to the possibilities of removal from the aquatic environment toxicity, carcinogenic and endocrine micropollutants. The possibility of technological applications of montmorillonite in the systems based on simultaneous processes was also presented.

Porównano skuteczność rozdziału mieszaniny metan-azot na próbkach naturalnego i modyfikowanego klinoptilolitu. W warunkach dynamicznych w kolumnie dla wzorcowej mieszaniny CH4-N2 (45%CH4) uzyskano wzbogacenie w metan na adsorbencie naturalnym (ok. 92%CH4) a na modyfikowanym poniżej 90%CH4. W artykule omówiono ponadto inne najważniejsze zastosowania klinoptilolitu.

Natural clinoptilolite and modified one were compared in separation process using laboratory scale PSA apparatus. Better methane enrichment was achieved for natural adsorbent (above 92%CH4) than for modified one (less than 90%CH4). Paper presented also other main application of clinoptilolite.
