The research was led for soils in the proximity of roads with various traffic intensity. PAHs were determined in the soil samples taken from the distances: 10,20,50, 100 and 150 m from the road. In the investigated soils, a high content of PAHs was confirmed, especially in the distance of 10, 20 and 50 metres from the roads no. 713 and no. 714 (with low traffic intensity). It may be caused by longer time of their exploitation (over 50 years) to compare with road no. 1 (about 20 years). The investigation showed, that the 4 PAHs which. are especially dangerous for living organisms, are about 50% of the total of 13 marked hydrocarbons, not depending on the level of contamination. Ali the investigated soils in the distance of 10m from the road were classified into the groups of 4th, 5th or 6th levels of PAHs contamination. In the distance of 100 and 150 metres from the roads, the influence of car transport on the PAH content in the soils is in most cases much reduced to the 1st level of contamination. The investigations confirmed the dependence of the PAHs concentration in the soils on their content of organic substances.

Badania stężenia PAHs (WWA) prowadzono dla gleb przy szlakach komunikacyjnych o różnym natężeniu ruchu samochodowego. PAHs oznaczono w próbkach glebowych pobranych w odległościach: 10,20,50, 100 i 150 m od jezdni. W badanych glebach stwierdzono dużą zawartość PAHs, szczególnie w odległości 10, 20 i 50 m od dróg 713 i 714 (o małym natężeniu ruchu samochodowego). Wpływać na to może dłuższy czas ich eksploatacji (ponad 50 lat) w porównaniu z drogą nr l (ok. 20 lat). Badania wykazały, że cztery szczególnie niebezpieczne dla organizmów żywych PAHs stanowią ok. 50% sumy oznaczonych 13 PAHs niezależnie od ich stopnia zanieczyszczenia gleby. W odległości 10 m od drogi wszystkie badane gleby wykazały 5, 4 lub 3 stopień zanieczyszczenia PAHs. W odległości 100 i 150 m od dróg wpływ transportu samochodowego na zawartość PAHs w glebach przeważnie zmniejsza się (l stopień zanieczyszczenia). Badania potwierdziły zależność koncentracji PAHs w glebach od zawartości substancji organicznej.
