Carbon nanomaterials as a new perspective material in chemical technology, have been presented. Literature review has shown that while starting from carbon nanotubes it is possible to produce a broad class of materials. Having a well defined structure, these materials demonstrate high stability. The electronic properties, most important for nanoeletronic application can be designed by e.g. substitution processes. The need of research and the development activity in the new branch of chemical technology has been concluded.
