Artykuł przedstawia efekty badań autora nad niezwykle okazałą, ponad stuletnią instalacją elektryczną, która zachowała się w zabytkowym obiekcie infrastruktury wodociągowej w niemal 100% oryginalnej formie (nie licząc częściowej dewastacji). Jest to rzadki przykład tego rodzaju zabytku, ponieważ obiekty tego typu i w tym wieku zwykle podlegały modernizacji na przestrzeni lat albo, po wyłączeniu z eksploatacji zostały całkowicie okradzione. Instalacja w zbiorniku Stary Sobieski przetrwała głownie ze względu na utrudniony dostęp. Materiał zgromadzony przez autora ma być podstawą projektu remontu i uczynnienia opisywanej instalacji w ramach projektu Gdański Szlak Wodociągowy, realizowanego przez GIWK Sp. z o.o. Artykuł ilustruje specyfikę zagadnienia i zawiera wnioski, które należy uwzględnić przy planowaniu prac.

The article presents the author's own research on the impressive, over a hundred years old electrical lighting system, which is preserved in a historic building of municipal water tank, one of the largest in Gdansk, built in 1911 using the pioneering - at the time - technology of reinforced concrete. The installation is preserved in almost 100% of the original form (when not taking partial devastation into account). It is a rare example of this kind of monument, because the objects of this type and age were usually modernized over the years or have been completely robbed after putting out of service. Installation in the water tank Stary Sobieski has survived mainly due to the difficult access. The material collected by the author is to be the groudwork of the project of renovation and activation of the described system as a part of the Gdansk Trail of Waterworks project with is implemented by GIWK Sp. Z o.o. Article illustrates the specific problems and includes proposals that should be considered when planning the work.
