The main purpose of this work is to present a solution based on ultrasound reflection and transmission tomography. The reflective ultrasound tomograph is designed in a modular way. The first module consists of a motherboard connected to an analog signal conditioning board and a liquid crystal display with an integrated graphics processor. The second module consists of a high voltage pulser with a 64 channel multiplexer. The presented control methods include issues related to the processing of data obtained from various sensors located in nodes. Monitoring takes place as part of data processing and the parameters obtained and processed. The device has been designed for tomographic measurements of the properties of various technological processes.

Głównym celem tej pracy jest przedstawienie rozwiązania opartego na ultrasonograficznej tomografii refleksyjnej i transmisyjnej. Tmograf ultradźwiękowy zaprojektowano w sposób modułowy. Pierwszy moduł składa się z płyty głównej połączonej z płytką kondycjonowania sygnału analogowego oraz wyświetlaczem ciekłokrystalicznym ze zintegrowanym procesorem graficznym. Drugi moduł składa się z impulsatora wysokiego napięcia wraz z 64 kanałowym multiplekserem. Prezentowane metody sterowania obejmują zagadnienia związane z przetwarzaniem danych uzyskanych z różnych czujników znajdujących się w węzłach. Monitorowanie odbywa się w ramach przetwarzania danych oraz uzyskiwanych i przetwarzanych parametrów. Urządzenie zostało zaprojektowane do tomograficznych pomiarów właściwości różnych procesów technologicznych.

Whole-cell biosensors, which can be used in the environmental protection and process measuring technology, in the biotechnology, food and pharmaceutical industry for the on-line control and monitoring of chemical and biochemical processes and for the fast detection of small amounts of solutes, are of great interest. These kind of biosensors comprise microorganisms like genetically modified yeast cells, which react on a specific stimulus, e.g. a residual amount of drugs in the measurement medium with a dependent fluorescence. The receptors of the cells detect specific signal molecules and stimulate the organism to produce a fluorescent protein. In this work, a combined impedimetric-optical read out was used, which can provide the reliable and long-term stable detection of a fluorescence signal accompanied by impedance measurements monitoring cell vitality and activity. A new challenge thereby is a special sensor design which enables the integration of excitation source, photodetector, interdigitated electrodes, and the fluidic system with an effective and long-term-stable packaging.

Biosensory pełnokomórkowe cieszą się bardzo dużym zainteresowaniem. Mogą one być wykorzystywane w ochronie środowiska i technologii pomiaru procesów, w branży biotechnologicznej, spożywczej i farmaceutycznej do kontrolowania i monitorowania procesów chemicznych i biochemicznych on-line oraz do szybkiego wykrywania niewielkich ilości substancji rozpuszczonych,. Tego rodzaju biosensory obejmują mikroorganizmy, takie jak genetycznie zmodyfikowane komórki drożdży, które reagują na specyficzny bodziec, np. fluorescencją na resztkowa ilość leków w pożywce pomiarowej. Receptory komórek wykrywają określone cząsteczki sygnałowe i stymulują organizm do wytwarzania białka fluorescencyjnego. W pracy wykorzystano łączony odczyt impedancyjno-optyczny, który może zapewnić niezawodną i długotrwale stabilną detekcję sygnału fluorescencyjnego, któremu towarzyszą pomiary impedancji monitorujące żywotność i aktywność komórek. Nowym wyzwaniem jest specjalna konstrukcja czujnika, która umożliwia integrację źródła pobudzenia, fotodetektora, elektrod palcowych i układu płynowego w jednej obudowie.

Simulation of the surface plasmon polariton (SPP) distribution in the 10 μm long four-channel multiplexer is conducted in present paper. The excitation of the SPP was done using the 632.8 nm pulse laser with 50 fs pulse duration. The simulation processes of the SPP propagation in the fourchannel multiplexer were performed for the latter switched as a splitter as an adder. Though the obtained signal strength is low due to ohmic losses and signal reflections in the middle of the waveguide it is possible to registrate it. The detailed procedure of waveguides preparation, analysis and registration of SPP propagation is described in the paper. For the proposed model verification the two-channel 20 μm long splitter was formed by optical projection lithography. Studies have shown that the SPP is distributed throughout the whole structure of the 20 μm long two-channel splitter with a partial extinction due to ohmic losses.

he sequence of systems of m leaky buckets and one mul- tiplexer is considered. It turns out that the states of the buffers for tokens and the state of the buffer of the multiplexer satisfy differential equations in the limit as the size of the cells of the data and the value of the tokens tend to zero. The results are compared with the equations proposed by N.U. Ahmed and K.L. Teo.

In this work, different novel 3×1 multiplexer structures for being used in polymer optical fiber networks are proposed. Designs are compact, scalable, and of low consumption, capable of operating in a large wavelength range simultaneously 660, 850, and 1300 nm, due to the use of nematic liquid crystal cells. Light that comes from each input port is handled independently and eight operation modes are possible. Control electronics has been made using a programmable integrated circuit. Electronic system makes available the managing of the optical stage using a computer. An additional four optical sensors have been included for allowing the optical status checking. Finally, a polarization independent multiplexer has been implemented and tested. Insertion losses less than 4 dB and isolation better than 23 dB have been measured. In addition, 30-ms and 15-ms setup and rise times have been obtained. The proposed multiplexer can be used in any polymer optical fiber network, even in perfluorinated graded index one, and it can be specially useful in optical sensor networks, or in coarse wavelength division multiplexing networks.

Opisano główne korzyści, jakie firmy osiągają dzięki stworzeniu własnych sieci korporacyjnych oraz przedstawiono rodzinę wyrobów Simux/MainStreetXpress mogących być podstawą takich sieci. W szczególności opisano mały multiplekser dostępowy 3612, średni 3600 oraz jego rozbudowę do funkcji Frame Relay i ATM. Wymieniono przykładowe sieci korporacyjne stworzone w Polsce.

The article discribes the aspects of using corporatenetworks based on the products of Siemens and Newbridge. The small Multiplexer 3612 and the medium 3600 are described. The migration into Frame Relay and ATM based on Simux/MainStreetXpress is discuseed. Two types of corporate networks and the references in Poland are mentioned.
