Steganography usage to control multimedia stream

In the paper, a proposal of new application for steganography is presented. It is possible to use steganographic techniques to control multimedia stream playback. Special control markers can be included in the sound signal and the player can detect markers and modify the playback parameters according to the hidden instructions. This solution allows for remembering user preferences within the audio track as well as allowing for preparation of various versions of the same content at the production level.

Zwrócono uwagę na problemy związane z transmisja danych multimedialnych w sieciach TCP/IP. Opisano protokoły rutowania w środowisku dwupunktowym (unicast) i w środowisku wielopunktowym (multicast). Określono czynniki wpływające na jakość świadczenia usług (QoS). Przedstawiono propozycje dalszych badań.

Key issues of the multimedia transmissions in the TCP/IP networks were discussed in the paper. Routing protocols in the unicast and multicast environments were described. Besides the traditional model of services, which is used for IP packets, the most modern QoS technologies like RSVP, RTP, RTSP or SAP were presented. Propositions for future investigations were outlined.
