The article discusses the notion of comprehensive multiaspectual (i.e. macroergonomic) design and provides an example of a wheelchair with functionality that will help the disabled to overcome architectural access barriers and specifically interact with the environment in a variety of contexts. The introduction includes a needs analysis of the target group and a study of the severity of their disabilities. Other specifications include: - the most common accessibility problems encountered by the disabled - the required functionality of the wheelchair - structural and technical key specifications.
