Analysis of the emergence of barriers to development of social innovations. The case of senior NGOS

The paper raises the problem of structural, cultural and agency barriers that limit the development of social innovations in the selected Silesian senior non-governmental organizations. The morphogenetic scheme is presented in terms of explaining the roots of the emergence of ressentimental mechanisms and effects determining the course of social innovations. On this basis and using qualitative analysis of data obtained during focus group interviews (FGI) with the leaders and members of NGO’s, a diagnosis and explanation is conducted concerning the occurrence of ressentimental tensions in the processes of initiating, testing and implementing innovation.

W artykule przyjęto schelerowskie założenie o emocjach zbiorowych (resentymentach) odzwierciedlających napięcia w strukturze i kulturze społecznej. Procesy innowacyjne są warunkowane przez konteksty strukturalne i kulturowe, w tym również o charakterze resentymentalnym. Autor podejmie się odpowiedzi na pytanie: jak podstawowe stany powyższych kontekstów, które określimy jako morfostatyczny (podtrzymujący trwanie) lub morfogenetyczny (generujący zmiany) warunkują powstawanie i wdrażanie innowacji w danym systemie społeczno-ekonomicznym. Zaprezentowane będą elementy morfo-genetycznej analizy przyczynowej powstawania ekosystemów innowacyjnych oraz barier ograniczających przebieg procesów innowacyjnych w polskich realiach strukturalno-kulturowych obarczonych kontekstami resentymentalnymi.

The article assumes collective emotions (resentments) reflecting tensions in social structure and culture (by Max Scheler). Innovative processes are conditioned by the structural and cultural context, including resentimental character. The author will answer the question: how the basic states of the above contexts, which we will describe as morphostatic (maintaining duration) or morphogenetic (generating changes), determine the creation and implementation of innovations in a given socio-economic system. It will be presented a morphogenetic causal analysis of the emergence of innovative ecosystems and barriers limiting the course of innovation processes in the Polish structural and cultural realities burdened with resentimental contexts.
